More important, Canelo is 30 years old and is about to unify the 168 division. The exact same thing that Calzaghe did, the same thing Crawford did at 140.
Now, those accomplishments may not mean shït to you but they carry a lot of weight historically.

Lastly, Canelo has some solid wins on his resume and is actually building on his resume. I can’t say I’m a big fan of his bit I can certainly and unbiasedly give credit where it’s due.
    1) the better canelo does the better it reflects on Mayweather for not just beating him but schooling him and being his only loss.

2)its not what he does but how he does it. Smith had a short camp and even then he should of lost the fight before that to ryder which is why canelo chose him in the first place. You really shouldn't be so emotionally attached.

    3) he got gift decisions against lara and golovkin (whom he waited 3 years to fight by making his own weight class 155). He put a same day weigh in clause on jacobs and fielding. Smith had a short camp. Weight drained chavez jr of all people.

This guy just used his drawing power to his ability. He is overrated.

Unlike you I'm not emotionally invested and dont just pat his back for what he does. I see how he does it and when you tip the scales in your favor it really isn't impressive. Crawford or calzaghe didn't do half the diva shlt he did

      So what?

Why would it bother you that something reflects well on Mayweather?

Meh, not like that. He gets boxing fans, but I wouldn't say that many casuals are checking for him.

                ——————-

You know, one of the things that makes Ali tower over his his generation was how he toppled Foreman. Ali got beat by Norton and Frazier but both those guys got destroyed by Foreman. In that context, the better Canelo gets, the more Floyd’s victory over him gets appreciated.

I actually agree with you about Smith. He had a short camp and I think Canelo made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. I also don’t think a 10 week camp would have made a lot of difference.

I also agree with you that he got a gift decision vs GGG, Lara and I think the Cotto fight was closer than what the judges had. I don’t think he weight drained Chavez. He didn’t need that to heat Chavez. Canelo beats that idiot at any weight.

You dislike Canelo to the point you just don’t want to acknowledge his achievements or even future achievements. Canelo will unify the 168 division and probably beat a lot of credible guys. What then? Will you still hold the same view?

Will this be an outdoor fight or in an indoor arena?
I went to a Miami Dolphins game week 1 in September a few years ago and the heat was unbearable.
Imagine May in Miami would be similar.
They do Super Bowls in FL in February bc the humidity doesn’t hit until April.

Miami is part of Cuba. Canelo is not Cuban, this doesn't make business sense.
