  • Film study,Bivol,Beterbieve who has higher ceiling, lhw only true threats to Canelo

So basically I been seeing countless Canelo detractors/haters saying Canelo beat up old bum Kovalev (1 yr older than Beterbieve)& that if he had any balls hed fight Beterbieve & or Bivol.

Then you have C Smith saying he doesn't think Canelo loses to anyone unless he keeps going up vs gigantic killers in comparison to the lil ginger whos 5'8( every fighter above 160 has said they'll beat the sht out of because hes so small compared to them.(then they get a wake up call) You got guys like Joe Smith & Alvarez who are considered cherrypicks for Canelo but Smith is now fighting for the title(that Canelo vacated),has proven to be a very tough skilled opponent whos hell on certain style matchups, yet the same ppl saying Kov was a cherry & that Smith sux as potential opponent say hes worthy of becoming champ when hes fighting for a vacant belt.

You got Bivol & Beterbieve not fighting each other,or anyone. But both have looked great vs Smith & the nail respectively. (Can anyone say Kovalev wasn't a more difficult opponent for Canelo than Joe Smith or Gvozdyk who won his title by freak occurrence when he was losing to Adonis.)

So basically my point I'm trying to make is #1 that Canelo is truly an atg for becoming great enough to ko 200+ lbs kov who was fighting a good fight,& that LHW is a truly stacked division because all the fighters are elite against any given opponent but bad matchups vs others & because Canelo is so much smaller they automatically seem better than they are because of natural size advantage.(the fact that everyone below 168 lbs would now be a big underdog v ginger shows the only reason anyone wants him to fight Beterbieve/Bivol is to give Canelo a huge disadvantage in hopes he loses)

#2 LHW are the only fighters who are on Canelos level(Because of size they are the only ones that pose a challenge. They are the only fighters imo that can hit hard enough & take punishment needed to give current Canelo a war

#3 Bivol looks like a real test for Canelo, Beterbieve despite being among my favorite fighters is tailor made for Canelo imho stylistically

    More to come.....
    11
    Beterbieve
    54.55%
    6
    Bivol
    45.45%

Those are both fights I’d love to see, but I doubt we’ll ever see the Beterbiev one for obvious reasons.

Bivol could happen though... He is still untested, while Beterbiev passed the test against Gvozdyk (who would also be a major problem for Canelo if he hadn’t retired). Also Bivol has been saying he would cut to 168 to fight Canelo for years, which would ostensibly make the fight more palatable for Canelos camp. Fingers crossed for 2022.

I couldn't disagree more about Gvozdyk,I have ALWAYS said he was a C level fighter who hit the lotto when Adonis brain gave out despite being on the way to a win. Gvozdyk imho couldn't be more overrated in defeat, hes beaten nobody but Adonis & then went straight retirement after getting the will to fight beat out of him by Beterbieve (Gvozdyk showed terrible skills/heart)

Joe Smith Jr imho would be a much better fight for Canelo

Kovalev was clearly washed up, he su.cked in Canelo fight, he barely threw any punch.

You can hype it, but Canelo knows he doesn`t belong to 175. There is a reason why he left.

At the end of the day, Canelo needed a gift to beat old GGG. So, I disagree that only 175 guys are a threat for him.

I mean, why everybody pretends like Canelo is some monster. Canelo doesn`t knock people out unless they are old drunks.

The whole point of this thread is the kov was completely washed up narrative is bs that doesn't hold up to scrutiny for multiple reasons(compare Ward fight 2 yrs earlier to Kov Canelo faced, whom he actually kod,& just watch the video of both & compare how kov fought,he looked better vs Canelo)

lhw is stacked af,& that only the lhws are on Canelos level,& only then because of size advantage. (Kov was rated #1 lhw before Beterbieve took C level Gvozdyks soul (Kovalev Canelo faced was no less than the #2 lhw,Bivol is still green without a resume, relatively unproven.)

The fact that a 5'8" ex jmw needs to fight Beterbieve & Bivol to not be a huge favorite speaks volumes about why detractors want those opponents & to how crazy good current Canelo is.

(When was the last time a 5'8" fighter won belts at lhw or even smw?)

Only a moronic fighter would've faced Bivol instead of Kov,& Beterbieve was already signed & is not known

Ps I respect your opinion none the less. When I say its bs I just mean NoBody has shown me evidence when comparison is made w Wards Kov

I challenge anyone to watch this fight & explain to me how it wasn't a very similar kov Canelo faced & explain what kov did worse v Canelo? I'll give massive props to anyone whos up for the challenge.

Lil known fact also: Canelo only weighed 178 morning of the fight where he was required to weigh 185,kov was 185 & fight was at midnight,so Canelo was likely at a 15 lb disadvantage at least.

Just reread your comment & want to clarify,I am not saying nobody below lhw has a shot of giving Canelo a war or even beating him. Im merely saying Canelo has now beaten better fighters than the fighters remaining at 160-168 & none of them would be less of an underdog than Kov was imho

& I disagree about needing a gift,I think GGG drawed the 1st fight at best(he lost 1st 3 rds & last 3 rds,& its a known fact ggg sux in championship rds & lost those rds in both fights & vs Jacobs too)& it was because Canelo fought too timid as he was weary of gggs power.

Im also saying that only the lhws look like they will give Current Canelo a war similar to Ggg( I think Canelo has already greatly surpassed the level 160 Canelo was at because he has so much experience that makes the difference)I don't think the fighters below 175 have looked too threatening lately

I think both beterbiev and Bivol have a great chance of beating Canelo I feel like out of those two it’s Bivol that possesses the bigger threat because he has the size power and decent speed not to mention he is the more technically sound sound out of himself and beterbiev. Regardless, Canelo isn’t campaigning at 75 at the moment and those fights aren’t realistic until at least 2022 or maybe even 2023. But I do agree that they possess great threats to Canelo. I would also throw in Benavidez in there. I know some people don’t think as highly as I do of David but that guy is special in my opinion and I think he can beat Canelo.

Did we need another thread to suck off Canelo and put down fighters he has no business in facing?

Every thread I make here comes rexy crying about it despite having time to go into every 1(Btw you are the one I referenced when I said certain Canelo detractors/haters claim kov was a cherrypick bum but say Joe Smith/Vlasov fighting for the same title is"not a pointless fight, nor are they no hopers",but you also said Smith was a bum cherrypick for ginger when I said I'd like to see that fight for war value.)

Nobody has said anything gáy like this bs you're claiming,I actually break down my opinions with film evidence/comparisons to back it up unlike this entire site who don't back sht up & can't show a shred of video to back up bs narratives.

Funny how you never feel the need to actually review film of boxing instead of just talking sht about boxing?

Care to explain how Kov looked in any way worse v Canelo than Ward(when he was an alcoholic & had fallout w shtty trainer)
