Mayweather Did More Damage to Boxing Than the UFC Ever Did

UFC may have drawn away more fight fans from boxing, but the rot was already set with Mayweather's drawn out pansy, boring purist style of boxing. I'd say around 2010 after the Mayweather Pacquaio fight is when casuals were like, "**** this, I have better things to do" and moved to UFC.

This is the guy who once walked to the ring with Justin Beiber. He was so thirsty for fame back then, he just went with the latest craze, whether he was into his music or not. This explains why he's fighting Logan Paul, a famous YouTuber with millions of subscribers and views.

He did the numbers. Fight someone insanely popular to stay current and hope their popularity propels you back into the limelight. What a desperate, repugnant cliche he's become.

Anyway, not content with making boxing boring and sterile, and being an egomaniac, he makes a mockery of the sport that gave him so much by fighting UFC fighters and the latest insult is probably the worst of all.

It's embarrassing that this site actually has his avatar on their forum heading. Anyone who is a fan of Mayweather at this point is a mental deficient.

Yeah, I'd say it was after the Pacquiao fight in 2010...

Hilarious! Floyd hasn’t fought a meaningful fight in more than five years but every day there’s two or three new I hate Floyd threads.

Take Floyd out of the equation and the UFC already overtakes boxing in like 2007. The long road to Floyd/Pac carried the sports profile for close to a decade.

Floyd vs Pac definatley did a lot of damage. It was the first time in ages a lot of my friends were interested in a boxing fight, I didn't even have to buy the PPV as i got invited to a watch party with a bunch of casuals, and all of them after was of the opinion boxing ******.

What is up with the surge in Mayweather and Pac threads recently? People are exposing themselves as know-nothings who don't really follow the sport.

This analysis isn't rooted in any fact. Anyone that co signs or agrees with this is as ****** as the TS.

Floyd didn't hurt the sport in any way. He drew casual fans to the sport. He made everyone involved that worked with him financially successful.

The problem with the sport is casual fans like greatness-Ali, SRL, Floyd- they don't like mediocrity shoved down their throats and it being called great when it isn't. Casual fans know the difference. The problem is idiots like the TS and those in this thread that claim to be huge fans of the sport that agree with him. You are all blinded by hate.

Canelo, Manny, Loma, AJ, Fury, Spence, Crawford and whomever else you deem the top p4p best in the sport simply are not as good as Floyd in the eyes of the casual fan. That is why the casual fans don't tune in as much. None of them have the ability to make a fight seem like a big event to mainstream fans like Floyd did.

Instead of crying like b-tches, tell your favorite guys to get better in the ring and do more outside of it. Elevate the sport the way Floyd did.
