Not that Floyd hurt Canelo at any point though. But when Canelo gained more experience, Floyd never wanted a remtach. A Mexican-American who know the Afro style, would have KOed Floyd with no problems. Look at Maidana, who is from Argentina but trained by a Mexican-American (Robert Garcia ) who showed him how to fight Floyd, gave him a tough fight and won both fights in the eyed of the fans. Canelo is way tougher than Maidana.
so much ******ity in this comment but let’s just focus on the bold, his fight just prior to Floyd was against trout. The same trout who just came off beating cotto with that same slick style you’re talking about. And since when do Mexicans ko slick black boxers with ease? Lmaooo Don’t post anymore, you went full ret@rd

They made Truax his mandatpry so he wouldn´t lose.
I get the idea that Benavidez wasn't given a madatory slot because he lost his title not once, but twice because of his own actions. Should the sanctioning body reward him? The last time he made 168 was in 2019. Yeah, I'd love to see Benavidez against Plant or Canelo.....but he's his own worst enemy right now.

Both Charlos were bigger than the Canelo that fought Trout when they fought Trout. “But but we say slick and don’t know what we’re talking about.” As if “slickness” isn’t subjective in boxing. Floyd was very slick making failed catchweights with Marquez and Canelo, and even more slick by telling Guerrero “however you want it” and Foyd didn’t go Toe to Toe.

Seems like “slickness” seems to be some cop out excuse for anything. Canelo today is the most slick offensive fighter in the game. Charlos, Trout, Lara, Floyd wouldn’t be slick enough to evade GGG. Only Canelo could do that. The rest would get KO.’d.

So when did Canelo get better? Canelo got beat by Floyd in 2013.
He arguably got beat by Lara in 2014 and Cotto gave him a great fight in 2015.
In 2017, most observers had GGG winning their fight. That’s 4 years after Floyd beat him.

So, while we have all these mythical scenarios, bottom line is today’s Canelo isn’t so much different from the Canelo that got beat by Floyd.
A 36 year old Floyd vs today’s Canelo fighting at 154 would play out the same exact way. Floyd by UD

No version of canelo beats floyd.

floyd is canelos eternal daddy. if not for that schooling canelo would never develop into what he is today.

your post has nothing to do with the lame excuse the other poster made as to why canelo lost but if you think canelo really evaded ggg so effectively , then why did he only Outland ggg in 5 of 24 rounds ? Lol

That's what's wrong with this era. We have good businessman but not great fighters.

Canelo vs GGG were real fights. Charlos, Trout, Lara, Andrade, BJS, Plant, Floyd would all get stopped by GGG. Golovkin has enough in the tank and chin to have pressured all those fighters to stoppage. It is a set of athleticism that only Canelo could stand with GGG. The second rematch only the toughest could take that firepower from GGG.

But but contextual “slickness” for Canelo in 2013 doe.

Spare us the “slick black fighters” narrative. James Brown and Hendrix would favor Canelo over all those clowns
