" It´s called boxing, not punching "....the dumbest thing I´ve heard. Boxing is punching, not dancing or hitting like a grandma. This is the reason boxing is losing fans, writers and commentators have a hugh praise on " slick " fighters who are boring. Glad that the fans are tired of that and now we have more exciting fighters with so many Hispanic, Eastern European, Asian talent.Comment

That's funny, because I was about to say the same thing. I respect bread's knowledge, but don't be using an example of a fight that happened 8 years ago, when Canelo was 21 as an example. Canelo is leaps and bounds better and in another level that he was in 2012. Don't use examples of something that's irrelevant at the present moment, he also is making the case that Plant would be competitive against Canelo because Plant beat Uzi, give me a break Bread . Plant will last against Canelo because of his movement, but that's all he's going to do, last, survive, go rounds because he won't engage against Canelo, but he's not going to beat Canelo.Comment

Nobody forced him to be ill disciplined and give up his belt on the scales.
Canelo would have still ducked him of course but maybe he could have gotten the Charlo fight.
Without the belt as incentive, he is high risk low reward whereas at least he could have been high risk/relatively high reward.Comment

Bread’s Response: ”Stylistically both fighters will be difficult for each other. We have seen Uzgategui make things rough on Caleb late in their fight. But we have seen Canelo outboxed by a 36 year old, Floyd Mayweather. I know Mayweather is special but it happened“
Comparing Uzcategui vs Plant to Mayweather vs Canelo (@23 and drained) is rather purple syrup ****** poor.Comment

To be fair, Benevides only has himself to blame.
Nobody forced him to be ill disciplined and give up his belt on the scales.

Great writing by Breadman. The only disagreement I'd have is that you cannot compare guys like Povetkin to Ron Lyle.
Ron Lyle was a huge puncher and would kill these guys today. Only a slick heavyweight like Tyson Fury, of the guys still competing, would be able to beat Lyle.Comment

the history on this mailbag is that if Bread says someone is competitive with the Holy boxing god Canelo, or had any opinion that is less than flowing praise, his weirdo fans go into attack mode. Bread gets called everything from a dummy to a racist for not bowing to the their cult like perception that Canelo is a gift to boxing.Comment
