Worried about Pac? Ironic cuz most guys on here think I'ma Pacquiao hater. Anywho.
I just said why, we saw Brook, Khan, and Garcia do it and look what happened.
And yes those fights can still happen, but Garcia might not ever be the same.
I don't wanna see a 70% version of Garcia fighting these guys so we can talk about how good the fight "would have been" if he didn't jump weight classes and fight Manny.
Pac is 42 years old. He's not ending anybody's career.
A catch-weight of 140lbs. seems fair to me! Going up to 147, then trying to return to 135 seems too risky! Getting beat by a 42-yr. old man, who has not fought in nearly 2 years, would NOT be a good look! I would say 140lbs. or no deal!
Hah well thats not exactly a catchweight XD It's a weight class!
Dont think Old Manny wants to drain even 1 pound tho
Bruh Pac is a very hard puncher. He could legit destroy this guy's career.
Also, we both know this aint about daring to be great. This kid is cashing out.
See Mikey, challenging a prime undefeated Spence, who eas being ducked by all the other welterweighrs at the time.
Now that, that was daring to be great.
This is just a cash out.
Like Reynoso said, Davis is the better fight.
Wow, you have it super twisted. The world saw quite clearly that it was, in fact, Mikey Garcia who cashed out with Spence. He made no serious effort to win that fight and showed virtually no emotion about losing it. Now he's just sitting around waiting for another money fight against Pac - to cash out once and for all. Dude doesn't train at all; he just talks about Pacquiao.
Ryan Garcia, on the other hand, says he plans to retire at 26, but will fight all the elite LWs, JWW and WWs before he's done. Fighting Pac is a no-brainer because it make him the most money, earns him the most fame and guarantees to make him the A-side against any future opponent. ANY fighter who would turn down a fight with a 42-year old ATG legend of the sport has to get their head checked. I understand that some fans don't reason well, but today's fighters know what's up.
At 26 years old, Gervonta is in his absolute physical prime and he throws a lot more punches than Pacman. They both Ryan but in terms of PR, a loss to Pacman is more defensible.
I would favor Manny at 147 too, but Reynoso knows that would not be a good look for Ryan, and so does Oscar, so again, I think they tell Manny 140, or no deal!
What about Manny vs. Mikey @ 147?
Had this discussion with my brother on the weekend. He reminded me that Manny has been a 147lb fighter for a long long time now. Doubts Roach lets him move down or Manny would even bother. Everybody wants to win the Manny sweepstakes. He brought up Mikey vs Manny also. Mikey was my favourite at one point. He tried to capture our imagination vs Spence but came up so so short that it kind of left a bad taste. I think Mikey’s happy to be a part time fighter. I’d watch the fight for sure, but it would have to end up being an amazing fight for me to be glad it happened. Un uneventful 12 round decision one way or the other would be a shame.
He can derail a 20 fight novice lightweights potensial .
Ryans resume is poor he has not beat anyone above B+ grade and that guy sat him on his ass and he had only a 2 KOs so no power.
Watch the shot again. If any professional fighter hits any other person flush in the mouth the way Luke landed, they are most likely going down - and staying down. It's about clean punching.
The other thing to note when you watch that replay is how long supposedly 'glass jaw' Ryan Garcia was on the mat. It was maybe 1 second before he rolled out and got to his feet. Many fighters would have been counted out after getting cracked that clean. Not only did Garcia get up immediately, he went right back on the attack. He doesn't have a questionable chin. He's got questionable defense. Pac could certainly land on him, but I don't think Pac KO's anyone ever again. Ryan, on the other hand, has the kind of twitchy speed and power to put an aging Pacman to sleep worse than JMM did. Make it happen and we can all bet our forum e-cash.
