No he wasnt, he was ahead on 1 card, which was bizarre considering Rivas was winning handidly. I remember as i had lumped on rivas as the dog. That’s what i thought but what i don’t get is why not Simon Kean? Rivas has 2 names on his resume. Jennings & Whyte. Jennings was ahead on all cards until the 12th rd stoppage similar to Froch stopping Taylor. Rivas pretty much has lost most rounds in his step up fights. Kean avenged the Carman upset but that hurts his rep for sure. This would be a decent fight to make. Kean is in the top 50 i think so it is a lot better than fighting Louis...Comment

Unless he can fight like Mike Tyson, that's way too short for heavy weight.
Exactly why Whyte chose to fight this nobody, instead of fighting any one of the genuine top 10s calling him out at the time.Comment

I had Jennings ahead myself & you are right Rivas was up on 2 cards. I thought Jennings control the fight but I guess the judges didn’t see it that way. I can’t remember what i had it at but I had Jennings winning by a few rounds. Here are the overall punch stats...
For the fight, Rivas landed just 80 of 434 (18%) of his total punches, and 45 of 152 (30%) of his power punches. Jennings out-landed him, connecting on 113 of 455 (25%) of his total punches and 60 of 195 (31%) of his power shots.Last edited by joe strong; 02-07-2021, 04:20 PM.Comment
