Good numbers for Ryan. They're nowhere near Tank's numbers but they're good numbers regardless

More importantly, look at the price point. Even if this was the only venue that was available and only 4,500 tickets available, GBP would have increased the prices if they thought they would sell. Clearly they did not think Garcia can do that at this point.Canelo, Ryan, Tank and Spence were all in Texas under the same restrictions. The smaller the venue the smaller the capacity. The promoters made the decision where to hold these fights. Meaning if they thought Ryan could sell a venue that scales to 16k they would have put him thereComment

Garcia is a level below these guys, so am glad his ticket prices reflect that and of his British opponent.I mean the restrictions being in place are for every event. What you want to look at in this case is that there were 920 tickets available at the $200 dollar price point and 75% of them were sold. Golden Boy can start increasing them going forward but it is clear they knew what they can sell or can't sell in this case. You were not going to have $500 dollar tickets or even more as you see in other fights because they simply would not sell. That's not Garcia's demo right now. He's not on the level of the top guys and you have to price accordingly.Comment

Yeah, nothing wrong at all with how they went about it. But the opponent being British isn't really what matters here. HIS fanbase is going to have to prove they are willing to spend on the high priced tickets. Once they do, it will reflect on price point changes that GBP makes going forward.
Just for comparison, this card still did far better than any card Jose Ramirez has done where he has sold over 10k tickets, MUCH better than Ramirez/Hooker, better than Charlo card in Vegas, almost as good as Lomachenko/Crolla and more importantly, better than any card he has headlined in California.
His popularity is going up and the gates should only continue getting better and better.Comment

Him fighting a British boxer in Campbell matters. If he was fighting Ricky Hatton then the pricing would or should reflect that.Yeah, nothing wrong at all with how they went about it. That’s what boxing should be about, and am sure that if he was fighting some known American or Mexican boxer then the pricing would be higher than what they were charging for his last fight.
The prices reflect perfectly on what level he currently is on.Comment

The Bud disrespect needs to stop. He does far bigger gates than this one.
I mean Hatton is different. But a certain opponent can help elevate the event but the main attraction is what really matters. Hooker is a Dallas kid that fought a Mexican-American in Jose Ramirez and that fight didn't do the numbers Garcia just did vs Campbell.Him fighting a British boxer in Campbell matters. If he was fighting Ricky Hatton then the pricing would or should reflect that.

Garcia's core fanbase consists of young teens. The next level will be to get them to spend more or expand it to the people that can spend more.
But he's definitely on the right track. Not many fighters can do 200k gates, let alone a 354k one during a pandemic.Comment
