Could Gerry Cooney has won against Michael Spinks?

Anyone out there other than our REDEEMER reckon you can score for Cooney? Gerry was robbed was he?

Timestamped at the finish. Y'all can watch the entire if you like.

Could have won that 5th round KO finish fight huh?

Oh but maybe before hand he was doing well? For those who don't want to watch 5 rounds of an old HW fight let me tell you all three score cards were 10/9 all rounds to Spinks, and, we all know that verbiage. No one says could have won when they mean was winning until KO. Cooney was losing for 5 rounds then got KTFO. REDEEMER does a talk of talking when his ass needs to be watching.

But yeah.....Gerry Cooney could have won that fight. You know, with a ******* or some such, in the real world his ass was a lamb for slaughter by an ATG LHW.

Cooney didn't have the skillset to beat Spinks even on his best day. One can argue that he always had a puncher's chance or getting one in, but odds are he'd be outboxed by Spinks at any juncture of his career.

The only way Cooney wins that fight would’ve been by knockout. If he landed his lead hook, cleanly, nobody survives that. No way he out boxes Spinks. Watching That fight now, Spinks was a lot better than I thought he was. I think watching Ali for 20 years made for an unreasonable juxtaposition. Ali would’ve been a champion in any era.

You know he buckled Spinks and stunned him more then once ,what round would you give Spinks and why not including round 5 ?

He landed it though and stunned Spinks ,he actually landed a double left hook at one point. You guys can’t really be watching this fight . Ha

Are you going to argue that someone taking over the fight by the announcers own admission in round 4 can’t win this fight ? Good old head case Marchegiano. ha

Cooney lacked the ability to clinch when he needed to, so he took punches instead. He didn't know how to cut off the ring, Spinks circled away from his power punches for most of the fight. Despite not being at his best, Cooney could not make the needed adjustments to overcome Spinks skills. I doubt he would have made those adjustments had he been prime.

I mean lotsa things COULD happen in a fight. They didn't in this particular case doe.

This was before my time, but I'd like to think that I'd have thrown money on Spinks here at dog odds cuz I'd have come to the conclusion Spinks shoulda been the favorite outright & there was huge value on him.

Announcers? you're going to use commentary to defend against scorecards?

A lot of these guys watch boxing on mute for good reason.

Tell me again about how your boxing knowledge puts you on par with commentary teams ya ****ing mook.
