And nothing is gonna impact nothing. Bob would HAVE TO BE a r3tard to put Taylor vs JCR head to head up against Canelo vs BJS. And say what you will about Bob he's not a r3tard. These fights will at absolute worst be scheduled to start & end in unison with the other fight. No one is stepping on anyone else. People will flip channels or go to a different app & watch one fight & then the other. Few make decisions on what to watch or not watch on undercard fights so while the cards may be entangled the main events won't be.

That said I suspect, as previously mentioned, that Bob will either put the fight on May 7 to get all eyes on his show the night before Canelo or he puts it on earlier in the day to take advantage of the UK audience & give UK fans a full day of US events with UK fighters back to back.
You can call him a dominant star as a draw but he still did less of a live gate in Texas than Spence vs Garcia. He can’t draw the same kind of buzz two 50 plus yr olds did in an exhibition. He went head to head with a ufc card and dazn made him sit in the locker room gloved up for an hour and a half to not have to fight at the same time as two ufc guys with a combined 25 losses. So I think you’re mistaken in thinking that Ramirez vs Taylor won’t upset dazn and matchroom, especially if canelo and Saunders are set to make about 30 mil and if Ramirez vs Taylor happens to end up on regular ESPN the way loma vs Lopez did, that canelo revenue will definitely be impacted.

If you don't see the difference in a competitive fight with a top name vs a good name doing better asses in seats revenue than a uncompetitive fight with the #1 name vs a no name idk what to say to you to get you to grasp that important factor.

Thats relevant in the draw conversation...but waaaaaaay off topic considering the Canelo/BJS vs Taylor/JCR issue we are talking about.

And DAZN got blasted for that decision by most as I recall it. Idk that many folks said it was a smart move thats for sure. Again no clue what thats got to do with a guy who's like a top 5 PPV buy guy of all time vs these two guys on the come up still.

I think you are mistaken if you think this will be an issue at all like I keep saying.

Look NO ONE wins if they go head to head. Some folks will choose to watch one fight & some the other fight. BOTH fights hurt themselves &/or lose money with that strategy. Bob ain't a fooking dummy. He knows Canelo is the biggest name in the game (or using your faulty logic is #2 & he ain't involved in a fight with the #1 guy on May 8) & he'll schedule his fight the day before, as is often the case these days to piggyback on this boxing holiday, or he'll do it early cuz sh^t he might even be able to make some small PPV money in the UK showing this fight early.

And IF they do go off at similar times you can bet 100% of your net worth the main events won't cross swords so to speak & all most people care about is the main event.

that was my main point so all that other babbling and defending of canelo is irrelevant. I said dazn wouldn’t be happy about it and you acted like it’s irrelevant. You can talk about what arum will do but arum give 0 fooks about dazn and canelo. As the article said, he’s already put a fight up against canelo before and it did fine. Granted canelo is bigger now but if the top rank fight is on regular ESPN, they will get a great turnout. Not sure dazn will get the subscriptions they’d like to if both fights are the same night. Nobody will say , let me not watch this free fight but plenty will say, I’m not gonna shell out any $ if I got a more competitive fight on for free.

clearly we have different definitions of what dominant means. If he didn’t sell more tickets than Spence vs Garcia, if he took a backseat to a ufc Ppv, if dazn balked at a 35 mil guarantee because he wasn’t generating the buys they anticipated, I personally wouldn’t consider that “dominant”. To each his own.

Yea thats fair, agree to disagree. I know your boxing fan type. Your probably the guy who thinks the #7 guy in a division sucks & shouldn't be in the top ten yet can't name 7 guys better than that #7 guy.

false. I know the sport in and out and know what I’m talking about. The problem with your example is that in boxing today, most divisions don’t have 7 guys that can be considered elite or even top fighters. Welterweight may be the only one.

go ahead and name a division with 7 elite fighters outside of welterweight. I could use the laugh. Just like the word dominant, you probably have a warped view of the word elite too.
