Same with the actual Canelo fight - Floyd was never pushed at any point.

To me, the way to see a fighter's best is when they're truly tested. Of Floyd's opponents only two really tested him - Burton and Chavez.

With Chavez? Like, watch that whole fight. Floyd starts distance defensive, Chavez ramps it up, Floyd literally switches styles like 5 times in the fight and showed different dimensions, even proving he could fight trench and outfight an aggressive fighter. He had to use every single trick he had to get Chavez off him, to the point Chavez's corner had to call it.

Like he proved there was nothing couldn't have an answer for - and basically anyone that fought him, he chose a style and if they couldn't get him out of that style, they took a loss.

Canelo wouldn't be able to deal with that. Ever. He's never been able to handle varying styles or aggression.

Even Castillo didn't really "test" Floyd, Floyd worked the first fight with a hand injury, so I expected a close outcome, performed better in the second but never switched gears because he never needed to. Same as Maidana.
      I respect ur opinion.

Fast forward to more recent times, looked really good against Kirkland, the smith bros and fielding. Struggled twice with an older ggg and best case scenario, deserves to be 1-1 with the win being controversial. I wasn’t impressed with how he looked vs Jacobs or a run down Kovalev as those fights lacked much offense from either side. And despite the scorecards, his fight with the smaller and much older cotto was pretty competitive. So I think Canelo always looks good vs a certain kind of fighter and I just think he’s fought more of those kinds of fighters post 2014 which may give the illusion that he’s significantly better.
Trout and Lara gave Canelo fits also. Some think they could of gotten decision.

maybe he didn't want another loss (j.l castillo 1)
          1. Canelo was 20lbs bigger than Floyd fight night. Lol. Also,Floyd is small and couldn't eat himself to being 154 on a scale. He tried but to no avail. Smarten up!

Everyone can fantasize, everyone can make excuses.....I wasn't ready. I wasn't experienced enough blah blah blah...

The un-deniable reality of it all is Mayweather beat that ass, you can make up any excuse but Mayweather handed Canelo his first loss and is recorded in history as so.

floyd schooled him at 36 years old in his 5th weight class

but yes canelo's prime is basically now at 168. mayweather weighs like 152 max on fight night. Canelo would have like 25 pounds on him above his 5th weight class.

                1. Floyd had 2 controversial fights. Maidana 1 and Castillo 1. What we respect about Floyd is he gave both immediate rematches and left no doubt. That's gangster! Lol. His other fights we knew he won because damn near all of them were UNANIMOUS!!

                2. Pac is 2.5 years older than Floyd so if Pac was past his prime then what the hell was Floyd. U make no sense at all.

                3. Punk azz Ortiz should of been disqualified for launching an air assault trying to break Floyds nose with the jumping headbutt. Pure coward move and Floyd gave him what he had coming to him. Ring justice was served.

That's how floyd marketed himself. The hate drove PPV sales. It's hilarious because there are still people who feel some type of way lmao just let it go, don't take it personally lmao

Anyway about the article. We don't get this version of canelo without mayweather. He was schooled! But he's gotten so good since
