Lol you’re not seriously pointing to IG followers as an indicator of success are you? Everyone talks about his social media following but never about his TV ratings (what actually matters).
You promote the fight to 8 million fans, even yielding 5% of those fans to buy your PPV will equal 400,000.
Lol @ social media presence not mattering. Tell that to Gatorade, who just sponsored the first professional boxer in their history, in Ryan Garcia.
Umm the promotion for this fight? The trash talking would not be like boring Terence Crawford. Garcia-Broner promotion would probably be really funny, entertaining, and it would be a circus.
Spence-Crawford is the better fight, they are the superior fighters, they are the higher ranked fighters, but they are not as exciting and as marketable than Garcia and Broner.
Which eve company has not realized what a social media presence does for their revenue, is probably not being ran correctly and is not generating as much revenue as it could be.
Spence and Crawford have a total of 1.4 million followers on IG. Garcia and Broner have nearly 10 million followers combined.
And yes, social media presence matters. And I do not even have Instagram or Twitter. But if you have a name, or company, you’re definitely failing if you are not promoting your company through the easiest and most effective way to promote your company: on the internet.
I don’t know how you can post on the internet on an internet forum and say that the attention you draw on the internet doesn’t lead to your company/name generating more revenue.

Newsflash: Social media is the new newspapers.
So where are all these ig followers when ryan fights on dazn?
IG followers dont equal boxing fans and Ryan fight ratings prove this.
For some reason I think Ryan v Broner. Spence/Crawford would be big among the boxing crowd but not much cross over. Ryan v Broner is a matchup of 2 guys who seem to have a following outside the sport. You also have different markets being served.
Spence-Crawford easily. I can't believe this is a serious question. Broner did 400K with Manny Paquiao 2 years ago. Are we insinuating Garcia is a bigger star than Paquiao?
Spence consistently does 300-350K against the likes of Porter, Mikey Garcia, and Danny Garcia, in fights he's heavily favored, and not to mention just outsold Canelo on ppv.
I'm sure most of Garcia's 8M followers on IG are teenage girls who aren't buying $75 PPV fights. Young people will find the free streams online, or several chip in and watch it on one purchase at a friend's house.
I think these two fights come in about even on PPV sales, with a slight edge to Spence/Crawford since they are both undefeated champions and evenly matched.
Sadly some of you may be right that some chinny instagram model vs a shot glassless trainwreck who is always in trouble may draw more than the best fight at 147 that can possibly be made between two highly skilled unbeaten champions.
