Canelo is too short and gives up too much reach to beat either plant or benavidez. Plant will easily keep it at range and doesn’t fade as much as Canelo does. Benavidez will bully Canelo with his height and reach. Reckon they’ll both beat Canelo who’s doing the equivalent of Loma and fighting in a division he’s too small for. He won’t compete against the bigger super middles. Only reason Smith failed is because his jab sucks and he doesn’t use his height or reach that well.

Plant is quite slick but he's no Floyd or Whitaker. I'm not sure he could keep Canelo off him for twelve rounds. The body shots would take a toll. Happy for Caleb that he's done so well, knowing he came up from hard times and loss.

Somewhat mirrors a lot of his early fights. Get off to quick start, flash the skill and speed and build a lead and then tail off mid-late rounds. Remaining efficient, but not really that effective and never truly turning up to the next level given he has many advantages in the ring. These are mostly quality performances though so don't get me wrong, he impresses me still....but were talking small margins at the top
Watching a lot of his fights when the crowd didn't know who he was - he's always get an instant reaction because of his look and style, speed....they'd be into it, whether they liked/disliked the showboating.....but midway, they'd lose interest. He tailed off.....I thought for a while it was a stamina thing because it has happened more than once....but maybe it could be bad hands or a chronic injury, it's starting to make more sense that it could be that (with stamina also being a factor)....there is just a let up or a lack of creativity or something in his fights that I notice where he will have big problems and likely fall apart quickly when under serious pressure.
There is something I can't put my finger on that isn't bringing it all together - dude has all the skills but the output and punch variety isn't truly flowing like you'd think out of this style...
He'd bring some good qualities that people want to see against Canelo, - at least he isn't a stiff like recent opp and has flare to him...he can move, but his footwork isn't fleeting like Lara or Floyd....and there is no equivalent of the lazerbeams that were Lara's left and Floyd's right.
Benavidez - he has a good blueprint to follow in Gavril 1, I think it's winnable.....but David is just so much more natural and fluid, I think Plant will have a tough time with a guy who is that big, throwing triple left hooks and can step off to the sides on the inside
Jacobs - not sure he can pull the trigger anymore, but hard to judge from the Rosado match - that fight had a fishy stink to it to me. IDK if I should draw too much from it - but I'd be interested in that fight though.
Charlo- I think he can win that
BJS - my gut says BJS even though he is so clownish
Smith - toss up
will it be any of these guys? Probably not - judging by the TV lineups, looks like theyre trying to set up Plant v Anthony DirrellLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 01-31-2021, 05:24 PM.

By the way, credit to Caleb Plant being his own promoter for this card. Noticed it was promoted by Sweet Hands Promotions. That’s the signature for Haymon advised fighters....more back end and take home money for the fighter
