BREAKING: Pac/Garcia Not Happening AT ALL, Per Golden Boy

Ryan Garcia's dream of stepping into the ring to take on Manny Pacquiao will have to remain just that for now, according to his promoter.

Golden Boy Promotions, which promotes the 22-year-old Garcia (21-0, 18 KOs), told ESPN Knockout that a fight between the two isn't in the cards.

"There's nothing to talk about there," Golden Boy executive Eric Gomez told ESPN. "They contacted us, but it turns out there's nothing to talk about. That fight isn't going to happen."

However, Guadalupe Valencia, who represents Garcia told The Athletic that the door is still open for the fight to take place.

"We're discussing terms," Valencia said. "Manny and Ryan want it and instructed their teams to make it happen. That's what we're trying to accomplish."

Uh oh. Is Ryan Garcia about to pull a Canelo on Golden Boy...?

Ryan wants to fight, GB is afraid him being knocked out by Manny will impact his earning potential. I actually don't think it would, unless he is seriously hurt.

Fancy a WW title holder contacting a LW novice for a fight while the entire WW division wants to fight him, boy oh boy I thought it was Ryan initiating this BS but it was Manny has anyone ducked there own division like this before not that I can recall, no wonder he was stripped by the WBA .

Reminds me when Arum told ESPN that DLH v PBF “is not on the cards”. Blocking your fighter from the biggest fight he can be in usually ends up backfiring. I think Garcia is so young that he would be gullible towards the situation right now and believe Gomez/DLH. When he starts learning the business he will then leave them.

While it's clear that Manny initiated negotiations, it is true that Ryan's the one who was for years heavily talking about his "dream fight" being Manny Pacquiao.

So I can't put all the blame on Manny for this, he's trying to do a ****** version of Make-A-Wish while still making money.

The difference is Manny should know better its sinister on his behalf because he is purposly ducking real WWs in the process which is the motive, Ryan is a kid in a lollie shop big glassy eyes and very naive cant blame him at all.

You know good and well that Oscar had something to do with Manny pulling the trigger though.

Yes, Manny should be more responsible. But we also know he's gullible.

Remember, he was convinced that God would deliver Floyd unto him, he was convinced to fight Bradley three times, convinced to fight Horn overseas, etc.
