My original point was that Canelo isn’t ducking or planning to duck him like the OP was suggesting. It would be like saying Mayweather ducked Brook back in 2015 or whenever he held the IBF.
I’m interested in Canelo-Andrade but I don’t think Andrade can demand the fight when he’s done nothing to stand out from the crowd.
FTR, Saunders and Smith have taken bigger risks than Andrade IMO.
People forget Saunders-Lemieux was 50-50 with the bookies, plus it was in Canada. I actually picked Lemieux by KO.
Andy Lee and maybe even Eubank Jr are better wins than anything Andrade has tbh.
Smith also bet on himself by entering the WBSS. Hearn/Matchroom advised him against it. He did get an easier path than expected though with Groves getting injured and Braehmer pulling out. He obviously didn’t know it would pan out like that though and he was still an underdog in the Groves fight with the oddsmakers.
Even Plant was a considerable underdog against Uzcategui tbf.
I feel like every fight Andrade has had he’s been a considerable favourite. He has never really been an underdog and still hasn’t even beat a genuine world champion. I think he’s very talented but I don’t think I’ve seen any progression in him from 2013 to now. It’s the same old story year after year.
I was firmly on the hype train back in the day. Think it was when he beat Willie Nelson on HBO and looked spectacular but I’ve just given up on him tbh. He’s just waiting for a big fight to fall into his lap instead of making it happen.
