Make no mistake about it: Benavidez is the best fighter in the division after Canelo beat Smith. He would definitely take care of business with either or both Saunders and Plant. Canelo may very well have decided to unify the day Benavidez lost the title on the scales.

If the fight does get made, and Benavidez misses weight, or comes up dirty then he should be avoided like the plague. Like I said Benavidez is his own worst enemy, but would still like to see them fight, because they're both at the top of the 168 pound division.
I would like to see them fight too but this clown Benavidez tries to act like he runs sh.it. He wouldn’t go near Plant when he was champion and now that he’s ****ed off his belt Plant is supposed to just drop everything and give him a shot? He comes off as a spoiled little *****.

On the outside looking in and whose fault is it.
He is now calling everyone one out and their dog looking for a break.
Hoping he has cleaned up his act with his self destructive ways cos he is just too talented.
Without a belt ( and leverage) he is just too much risk and low reward for most of the elites in the division to want to fight him.
Hopefully he catches a break somehow!!!

This is all financial business for Plant

He has that new wife and came up without much! This is how you rewrite history, my life isn’t what history says it should be. A Canelo fight will set him up well and even with a loss he can ride into the sunset, possibly fight a couple more times for 6 figures and call it a career without fighting a beast in Benavidez who will be dangerous for all if he can comfortably make weight.

David knows he has time on his side, eventually all these champs will have to see him. Eventually, belt or no belt, plant will have to see David

Benavidez-jacobs would be a good scrap actually

Well if David hasn't learned his lesson by now, he'll find out the hard way that everything has it's breaking point. He wont get away with missing weight, or coming up positive on an anti doping test again. I think he's missed weight twice in his career, and dirty once. He's got to get his act together, l because his lack of professionalism is getting old. Caleb Plant should beat Caleb Truax, with little to no trouble, and David Benavidez should beat Ronald Ellis with a bit more trouble. David has already called out Jermall Charlo, if that fight happens, and David wins, it's got to be Plant versus Benavidez next. They could also move on up to 175 if they have to, and meet up there.
