Comments Thread For: Benavidez Still Hopes To Face Plant, But Thinks He'll 'Sit Out Until He Gets Canelo Fight'

By Keith Idec - David Benavidez realizes he didn't just lose the WBC super middleweight title at the scale August 14. The undefeated former champion also lost all the leverage he had to secure the types of high-profile fights he wants. The Phoenix native still would love to challenge Caleb Plant if the heavily favored IBF 168-pound champion defeats former champ Caleb Trua...

Plant was calling for a fight with the benavidez for a while before his won his title. I've seen a video from a while back and Beni through he was above plant and put him on the backburner. Now the roles have reversed lol. F#ck Benividez, the guy misses weight or pisses hot so it's not worth the risk of the fight falling through last minute. Let him fight Callum Smith as his comeback.

If David Benavidez, beats Ronald Ellis, in their up coming fight he should get the opportunity to fight for Caleb Plant's title. Then if he can't make the weight going forward, he should move up to Light Heavyweight.

Your right on both counts HighLightReal, no one can dispute that. That being said David Benavidez is continuously calling out Caleb Plant. A fight between them both would be an explosive battle, and I for one would love to see it. If the fight does get made, and Benavidez misses weight, or comes up dirty then he should be avoided like the plague. Like I said Benavidez is his own worst enemy, but would still like to see them fight, because they're both at the top of the 168 pound division.

My apologies to the 168 pound champion, for misspelling his name. I should have spelled it Caleb Plant, in both of my earlier posts.

Benavidez feels that he is sure he will beat Plant. But actually Plant is capable of beating him...

Now that Danny Jacobs is a free agent, I think either Benavidez or Charlo should seek to fight him @ 168! In fact, Benavidez, Charlo, Jacobs, and Morrell Jr., is a nice foursome at 168, and I don't care how they match up, but they should MAN UP, and make some fights happen ASAP!

Benavidez should destroy Ellis and try for a super fast turn around against Danny Jacob's. That's actually a fun fight to see even though I think Benavidez wins
