Ortiz is so great that good solid fighters aren't enough for him imo. He is expected to destroy Hooker rather easily in most opinions but that doesn't mean that Hooker is not a legit opponent it just means that Ortiz perceived as the legit goods.

Hometown fight, go out trading , go out on your shield get cred in your city. I think that is whats in store for Hooker. Vergil too tough, When he hits that thin body with liver shots Hooker is gone.

Ortiz is expected to win. Hooker is not even a welterweight.

Ortiz don't yet but Hooker from Texas also and not looking to fold

under pressure! I believe Hooker at this weight for his height will do better than expected, and don't get me wrong; I still thinks he lose by knockout but do believe he will put up a hellava fight before he goes by by! It always seem like he's just not a physically strong guy and after a few rounds has nothing left, he never looks strong down the stretch. Ortiz by KO and one fight away from fighting a real dog. Who that is not sure but the pressure for someone to step up will mount.

Right. This sht isn’t competitive at all mainly cuz Hooker is not a WW.

It reminds me of Diego Corrales when he moved up to 147.

I don’t think he has the chin to hang with Vergil either.

I'll watch any Vergil Ortiz fight. Also excited to see Superbad Estrada fight again.

Great fight! Now if we only could get Ugas vs. Thurman, then winners face each other for the WBA "Super" Champion! WBA could give Manny something like this:

WBC: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is Now Champion Emeritus

The World Boxing Council has finally issued a ruling on Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs), who holds the WBC championship at welterweight and junior middleweight. Mayweather has been given the status of WBC Champion Emeritus. The announcement was made by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman at the sanctioning organization's 53rd annual convention in Kunming, China.
