I remember there being a bit of a buzz around when he joined the UFC. Things went downhill from there.

Askren's stand up game and boxing was seen as a meme.

Lol damn this is the worst fight they could've chosen Askren has terrible stand up and he fought at 170 he's going up 30 lbs to face a young athletic kid with knockout power don't see it ending well. Paul needs to fight an actual striker from MMA first and then face a fading boxer if he really want's to gain some respect this is just a side show at this point and it's going to make Askren and MMA look really bad.
