It's a no win situation. They fight their mandatory? They're ducking better fighters. They don't fight their mandatory? They dropped the belt to duck their mandatory.

The fighters should be more active. The alphabets should rank better mandatories. The fans should stop being toxic fanboys/haters spinning whatever narrative fits.

You can only fight the people who are there.

the top guys at 168 is

      Callum Smith - Defeated
      David Benavidez - TBD
Caleb Plant - Turned fight down
BJS - In may its looking like.

Those are the top names at 168 and Canelo would dispose of all of them outside of Benavidez inside of a 1 year span its looking like, It's not Canelo fault he is the best in the division.

Now if you are searching for marquee fights than thats something different and those marquee names will have to wait on a Canelo's blessing or manifest their destiny meaning move up or down to 168 and get your self a mando status to Canelo.

Are you trying to say 'this ain't Canelo's fault'? Sure. Whatevs... I ain't really about blaming fighters for this kinda thing anyway, I just don't think it's a very good fight is all. I don't think less of the dude for it I just ain't real interested.

If the plan is to unify 168 by year's end, what's the big deal about Canelo fighting Yildirim, especially considering he JUST fought literally a month ago?

If he fights and beats both BJS & Plant to become Undisputed 168 Champ by year's end, are people GENUINELY going to say, "Well he didn't fight Jermall Charlo!!! So Boo!!!!".

          Speaking of....what ARE Jermall's 2021 plans?

I like it. I doubt it'll be sustainable long term doe, but I hope I'm wrong about that.

Either way if he fights 4 times in less than a year it's crazy active for a big name in our era of boxing so respect to him.

Canelo fighting his Mandatory. End of story.

This is how the sports is supposed to work, you fight your Mandatory and then you get a Voluntarily Defense. you fight your Mandatory and then you get a Voluntarily Defense. Rinse Repeat.

The only issue is you want Marquee fights but Canelo is at 168 who is a Marquee fight? Maybe Plant? Maybe Benavidez but that's it. Its not his fault the division he fights at doesn't have Sensational Fighters.

According to the rules for franchise champion with the WBC every fight he takes is effectively a mandatory. This has recently been discussed in another thread. Honestly believe me I approve of folk fighting their mandos and I've already said I ain't faulting Canelo for this, but he wasn't actually required to fight Yildrim. What exactly are you wanting to hear here? You're wanting me to say it's a good fight or something?

                4. The Franchise Champion will proudly represent the WBC in every single fight as a reigning WBC champion. This is regardless of any specific conditions or titles being associated with all future fights.

I think fighting once or twice a year is dumb. You get your name out and become popular by being in the spotlight. If the NFL or NBA played one game a year they would have a lot less interest.

So I'm all for being active.

I do not want to hear anything from you in terms of me fishing for a certain response out of you or that sorts, I was just speaking on you saying about yilderim fight not being "a very good fight". I was just pointing out that their are no great fights for Canelo at 168 that will quench any thrist for a great fight out of Canelo. The names/talent just arent there at 168 to make that happen imo and thats why I say its not Canelo fault.

Its also why I say I rather see Plant vs Benavidez before I see Plant/Benavidez face off with Canelo because a Plant vs Benavidez fight is a great competitive fight but a Plant/Benavidez fight vs Canelo is not so much imo due to Canelo being levels above them talent wise.

I'm for it if he fights Charlo or Andrade. If not it's of no interest to me at all.
