Maybe not in the UK but in the US, yeah he will still draw a lot of interest for his next fight because people are going to be curious to see WTF happens after he was defeated and embarrassed

However, it is some fans who kinda just want Wilder to GO AWAY I get that as well especially after all his BS Excuses.

That being said, if the Put Wilder of FOX or Showtime, he will still Draw Huge Ratings

Martin is in the running ,there’s no one in Wilders camp denying it and no other fighter making headlines I believe Finkle hinted it as well . I also saw a video I forgot which one where someone in Martins camp said he was next for Wilder . That was the other week .
I just remember deontay calling Charles Martin the worst heavyweight champ in history and USA should be ashamed of him. So I’m struggling to see how Wilder sees a fight with Martin as a route back to the top? Is he hoping to win the IBF mandatory? Pulev literally just fought joshua.

I don’t know man. I really thought wilder was going to pick a much sterner test. But he does need to rebuild his confidence I guess....

Why are ppl trashing on this fight?

Wilder is working his way back up to contention like he should

Fight a Martin, a solid contender, then a title shot

The mans a genuine lunatic but this decision isn’t a bad one

This thread was not created to bash anything or anyone. It was to see if others had seen/heard similar.

As a proud American, I’ll often back my owns. But when deontay has behaved in the fashion he has, called out other names (none of which included Martin) and at one point in time, called Charles “Worse heavyweight champion in history” “ a stain on US Boxing” and an “Embarrassment”.

So to now do a full 360 and Enter talks to FIGHT Charles just begs the question, Does this fight put him back on the world title Road? People are allowed opinions on wether they agree or disagree.

I myself will watch with keen interest BUT aren’t too sure if Wilder wants Martin to Gain Confidence back which would hint that he’s ACCEPTED he wasn’t good enough last time out, or if he feels this is a great opponent to make an impact with. Many others seem confused too.

Wilder says a lot of things that come back to haunt him like saying he would fight the winner of Ruiz and A.J but when A.J won something he didn’t expect, he then said he didn’t like his performance so neglected it .

I don’t think he’s in contention for the IBF ,if Martin loses i think Hunter , Parker or Hrgovic still get the elimination bout because Wilder isn’t ranked in the IB.F which requires the two top guys to fight .

I like the Martin fight , he’s a bit underrated and he’s been working with Manny
Robles who had him starch Washington,a top Wilder win . I wouldn’t put it past him winning this fight and a Wilder coming off loss and firing guys could be another disaster , Martin can punch .

Posters are making the mistake again assuming only one guy is going to be swinging, just like the Fury fights where everyone acted like Fury was going to have to avoid Wilder every round when that wasn’t the case at all if he punched back . Its a 60/40 fight for me favored to Wilder . It’s another fight who lands solid first will probably win .

He's a long way off the title road . If fury beats Joshua he's the grand canyon away because Fury wont fight him again and i doubt Hearn/Joshua will be in a hurry to deal with camp Wilder again.
If he was serious about being champ again he would have taken his medicine , assessed where it went wrong , kept his mouth shut and get the rematch on . Instead he told the world Fury spiked his water and beat him over the head with an egg timer .
I think the shows over for the bomber , his ego has a bigger dent than his head and once he realises how ****** his conspiracies sound he will die of embarrasment and vanish.
Its a shame , i liked his bombastic approach and his verbal diahorrea .

It does put him back on the road by giving him a win to work with

After, he can face a contender

He could face a contender straight away but he was brutally stopped last time round. I don’t think he should be blamed for it
