He's a piece of **** who was more interested in being a ****** thug than an actual fighter.

Mental. He was a classy fighter and then he got brainwashed in to trying to become some sort of flashy stylish PPV money making attraction, he forgot who he was and forgot how to Box and took up some persona and fighting style that kept making him look like a twat and get beat.

I have to say, as much of a mess as he has made of his career he still manages to make me smile talking about the can man (fighting cans? ) and and hilariously talks of picking the cherry out of the chocolate box.

He lost that mental aspect of the fight game.
Some guys can show up, others choke.

Both. He arguably already lost before moving to 147 and Paulie outworked him.

But it's clear he changed after his first loss.

I think prime, mentally sharp Broner would be a watered down Danny Garcia. Think that was/is his ceiling.

A guy who can pull out upsets but still a gatekeeper. But I say watered down version cuz at 147 Broner not capable of the type of wins Garcia is.

Broner probably never quite reached his peak cause he lost to Maidana when he was in his "still yung doe" phase. After that fight, he seemed to lose a lot of interest in being at the top and just wanted to make money.

He was overhyped and wasn't all that, but he clearly has some talent and actually could have had a lot of success even after getting beat down by Maidana. He had untapped potential that he'll probably never see now since he's wasted the last few years being complacent and seeming satisfied being the B side now as long as he's paid well.

It's mostly mental. He's so caught up in presenting a character, he's stopped fighting.

Just like his idol; he was going to be undefeated and brash, and people would pay to see the latest challenger take him on and hopefully finally beat him, but come up short again. Rinse, and repeat. Get rich in the process.

Once Maidana humbled him on free TV, Broner had no Plan B. So he lost his desire and thus the losses and his out of ring ******ity added up.

A mentally strong fighter would have learned from the loss, trained harder and corrected his flaws, and gotten back on track.

Broner didn't have that mentality, and so he is now basically a sideshow act, hoping to get a few big paydays before he has to retire.
These are the correct words in my mind. Well said
