Comments Thread For: Josh Warrington Vacates IBF Title, Looks To Gary Russell or Xu Can

Josh Warrington has today vacated his IBF world title after the IBF refused to sanction his proposed unification fight in April. Earlier this month, the proposed mega fight with Xu Can was delayed with a new working date of April 24. Matchroom will now look to finalise that fight or make a giant match up with WBC king Gary Russell.

Kid Galahad vs Jazza ****ens for the vacant? Not a good look for Warrington unless he does land a Gary Russell fight.

Oh ****, Gary gotta fight Rey Vargas too.

Galahad stinks up fights when it’s too competition and has also been popped for PED plus he fights dirty, Josh wasn’t gonna win the rematch!

Hopefully we get Russell jr vs Warrington

Good to see a boxer not play into the politics of the organization. Not sure why they would not sanction a unification fight.

Don't GRJ have his annual mandatory coming up? I don't understand this move unless he gets Xu Can.

Rey Vargas moving up becomes his mandatory but I don't know if its officially scheduled yet.

Frank Warren got Josh a world title in front of a sold out Elland Road.

Eddie Hearn has lost Josh a world title so he can go and fight the WBA regular champ in a “mega fight” in a studio.

              Should have stayed with Frank...

                Where’s Jazza ranked?

Would love to see him get that shot.

Both have massively improved since the first fight.

He can advise him though. Dangling the carrot of “mega fights”.

He’s a massive factor in this decision.

Do you think Josh is ducking Galahad? Kind of looks like he is I reckon.
