They paid over 35 million to watch AJ fight Ruiz. With the Fury V AJ fight being way bigger I am sure they would pay far higher than that.

How would a fight between two brits airing in the afternoon from Saudi Arabia sell 500,000 PPV buys in the US?

A fight between a brit sold over a million buys in the US so why is it hard to believe that they would do half a million? I was just explaining the possible ways this fight could generate money. I would think that if Canelo fighting a bum can generate 300k buys this fight against the top 2 HW will sell higher.

Joshua vs. Fury, may be like a Floyd Mayweather PPV, boring, over-priced, and could very well end in a scandal. I wont be surprised if Tyson cheap-shots Anthony Joshua into a KO victory, like Floyd did to Victor Ortiz.

Patrons of Mayweather PPV's have demanded a refund over their disgust for Mayweather's poor sportsmanship ( kinda like Tyson Fury vs. Steve Cunningham ), and negligent officiating by Joe Cortez and Kenny Bayless ( who also officiated Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury, btw ). Controversial endings left casual fans promising to never buy another boxing PPV ever again.

As I said in another thread today, there are unpredictable murky elements in the careers of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, that mirror Mayweather's unsatisfactory results on Box-Office. As such, purchasing Joshua vs. Fury entails great risk of wasting your hard earned dollars.

One thing about Matchroom PPV's that does not parallel Floyd Mayweather's events, is the talent on the undercard. Considering that this fight may be in the UK, I can expect a terrible list of names to appear, like : Katie Taylor, Josh Kelly, Josh Warrington, Connor Benn, Gennady Golovkin, will surely be apart of this event. You will be lucky if cheap Bob Arum threw in a couple Toprank boxers to add value.

Now you compare the names that I just listed, and look at this clip below and you will immediately recognize the superb P4P talent that you got on a Floyd Mayweather PPV undercard.



You can combine : Katie Taylor, Josh Kelly, Josh Warrington, Connor Benn, Gennady Golovkin, and you wont produce anything that comes close to match the skills or drawing power of Saul Alvarez.

Take my advise, save your money for a Terence Crawford PPV, 'BUD' is the closet thing to Floyd Mayweather that you are going to watch at world-level.
