Lomachenko should be 30-0 and no. 1 p4p

But he and his father insisted on mismanaging his career and this is the outcome you get when you do that.

Lomachenko should have fought six bums a year from 2014 to 2018 and stayed at 126.

He would have had a record of 25-0 before challenging for a title.

At the end of 2018, he could have fought Gary Russell (like he did) in a featherweight “super fight” to win his first title.

26-0 and top 10 P4P with that win, especially considering the amateur hype and the promoter.

At the beginning of 2019, he could have moved to 130 and picked off an easy win over a name champion, say a Tevin Farmer.

Wow he moved up in weight and won a title!

Further cements his place in the top 10 p4p at 27-0.

Then he just goes on a diet of losers twice a year while waiting for unification fights against Berchelt and Herring, who are both with the same network.

In 2021, he would be 30-0, near the top of everyone’s p4p list, if not at the very top and getting credit for fighting bigger men.

That’s a better reality than what he’s living now, right?

The problem with your position is Loma started fighting professionally at an older age so that volume likely isn’t sustainable at his age in this era.

I do think he should have stayed at 130. You have good opponents and TR has a number of young guys at 126 that eventually would be at 130.

This is very interesting and I agree to a certain extent. If Lomachenkos career was managed differently he would be looked at a lot better.

He has 2 losses but is 13-2 in world title fights and the fastest 3 division champion in history, so I still rate him higher than most.

That's not in his blood. He fights the best no matter what the consequences are. Which is how more fighters should act these days.

His career hasn't been mismanaged, outside of the Loma overrating his skills verus Teo and Salido, things are going exactly as Arum planned. You can't name many fighters that have been put on the pedestal Loma has despite accomplishing so little.

He really never looked impressive after leaving 130.
