Lomachenko should be 30-0 and no. 1 p4p
But he and his father insisted on mismanaging his career and this is the outcome you get when you do that.
Lomachenko should have fought six bums a year from 2014 to 2018 and stayed at 126.
He would have had a record of 25-0 before challenging for a title.
At the end of 2018, he could have fought Gary Russell (like he did) in a featherweight “super fight” to win his first title.
26-0 and top 10 P4P with that win, especially considering the amateur hype and the promoter.
At the beginning of 2019, he could have moved to 130 and picked off an easy win over a name champion, say a Tevin Farmer.
Wow he moved up in weight and won a title!
Further cements his place in the top 10 p4p at 27-0.
Then he just goes on a diet of losers twice a year while waiting for unification fights against Berchelt and Herring, who are both with the same network.
In 2021, he would be 30-0, near the top of everyone’s p4p list, if not at the very top and getting credit for fighting bigger men.
That’s a better reality than what he’s living now, right?
