Hide was a bum. He wasn’t even top-3 British HW of his era.

People always tend to overrate old timers & act like they were better than they were when during their eras they weren’t rated at all.

I wouldn’t even describe Hide as a top contender. He was gifted a belt twice & he’s basically like Stiverne & Charles Martin.

Posterity for example would make guys like Chisora & Dillian Whyte look like world beaters. The same way people won’t stop the fallacy of how Tua & Ibeabuchi were great based on one fight. A lot of old boxers benefit from these types of falsified narrative.

Hide was never above average. He just had decent power...that’s where it ends & he was undersized.

Klitschko regarded his victory over a faded Hide as his greatest victory for a minute. The guy was solid.

He was up on all 3 judges score cards against Lewis at the time doctor stopped fight.
He literally scared Lewis into retirement.
Vitali was a GIANT, with power and an iron chin. He also has an indomitable will unlike his brother Wlad.
Head to head, prime for prime, vitali would beat dam near every heavyweight.
