February 26th will mark the date of the return of an Australian institution, The Thunderdome boxing series based out of Metro City in Perth, Western Australia. The name comes out of the Mad Max Thunderdome movie, as its the most unique venue in all of Australia boxing, their are 4 levels in an ampi theatre style modern day coliseum, all looking down at the ring. The ring itself is situated on a stage as the facility operates as a concert venue.

Agree. Kinda like that old Blue Horizon setup on steroids. I dig it. Someone needs to copy that in the US if no one hasn't already.

Damn that feels like they'd be right on top of you. York Hall creates this kind of environment, but not to this extreme. Might tune in just to see it live and how closed in it actually would be with a ring.

Thunderdome is nothing next to Ellerslie Event Centre in New Zealand where boxers must descend the escalator into hell to fight!!
