A very good Light Welter, a decent Welter. But he's one of the PBC Welters so he's guna get blown out of all proportion to raise the level of the other PBC fighters that they put in there to beat him.
Why is Danny Garcia so Hyped?

When he beat Amir Khan, Khan was probably the most hated fighter at that time and Garcia beat him in hilarious fashion and loads of people loved him for it.
It's a bit similar to Marcos Maidana who everyone loved it when he whooped Broner, and people are still greatful for it now.
Basically if you beat someone who loads of people hate you will win over a lot of fans. I don't think Garcia or Maidana are any more than just good world level guys but their popularity overstretched that mark a little bit because of those wins.Comment

He deserved to have some hype off of 140 and coming into 147, it was a good addition to WW....but overall, I agree he just gets to sail along getting title shot after losses and gets the red carpet treatment where card revolve around him regardless of what he did in his last fight.
I brought this up in another thread - I would love to see Danny G vs Jose Benavidez. I think that fight would be something that provides some clarity on 2-3rd level at WW
Also, when he beat Khan he came in on short notice after Peterson failed a drug test for the rematch...he was a pretty good prospect who just slid in there under the radar and I don't think Khan respected that he was up and coming and ready for that fight.....Khan is still a chinny guy who fights pretty reckless but MAYBE the change of opponent threw things off as wellLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 01-17-2021, 06:31 PM.Comment
