Bob Arum on fake PPV reports...

This is what he told Ring Magazine about the 250K PPV number (Truth vs Swift fight) as reported by Coppinger:
    Bob Arum:
“We know approximately, they’ll be lucky to get 120,000. We’ve just gotten to the point where the numbers being used are not realistic. They don’t reflect reality. Remember, this is the Trump era. People are willing to say anything, and people will believe it. But to be so off is crazy. The Athletic has the Donald Trump of sports reporters!”

Everyone inflates PPV numbers, by a big margin probably. I think we should all be able to agree on that, though

I've been saying for years. When the PBC mention their PPV numbers halve it for a more accurate total. They never release facts they always push out rumoured numbers "somewhere around" or "up to" a certain amount and then let ppl go spread the word as if its fact.

But, Arum is a sleazy turd who can't be trusted either. He constantly lies and literally says anything he wants no matter how far off the mark.

Boxing USA. Its a fkking soap opera.

Bob Arum's PPV numbers for Crawford vs Khan must be fake and inflated too then.

Which means that card was even more of a colossal flop than we thought it was.

I do think Networks Inflate Numbers up to make them look respectable BUT I also think Arum frustrated because ESPN has shut down PPV for HIM because Crawford vs Khan lost so much money. Also think money was lost on Fury with Wilder vs Fury II not even breaking 1 Million despite having FOX promote it during the Super Bowl as well as ESPN Promoting it

No problem with PPV's but stack the Card and make sure Main Event is worth it. Arum doesn't have a In House Fight he can make at the moment that would do even good PPV Numbers so ESPN clearly tighten HIS BUDGET and he don't have the Freedom he thought he would. If He did then he would be doing just as much PPV's if not MORE.

Arum inflates his numbers too. That's why he knows.
