This punk kid talks like he's going to clean out the division in boxing, then go dominate MMA. I predict he's going to soon get his ass handed to him in boxing and will go nowhere near MMA.
Boxing is harder.
In boxing, if you suck, there’s no way around it. There’s really no luck.
In MMA, a bottom guy can beat a “top” guy. “Upsets” happen more in MMA than boxing for a reason.
A striker/boxer in Holly Holm went to UFC and easily wrecked the top female fighter and darling of UFC. A master grappler who couldn’t get off on a stiker-style opponent.
I’m not saying Ryan Garcia would dominate in MMA. He can go 0-5 for all I care. It just sounds like your comment is saying “if you can’t make it at the top in boxing, you won’t make it in MMA”. I think boxing takes more skill and the only enemy to real top fighters is age. I feel like the top and the bottom in boxing is more definitive. Upsets happen in boxing once a while. It seems like upsets in MMA happen every other card.

No, I wasn't saying that one sport is more difficult than the other. I was saying that Garcia will fail to dominate either. I think his brash overconfidence will negate his discipline, which may result in him getting surprised. We'll see.
I Like garcia but honestly just like alot of boxers hes got some mental issues . Hopefully oscar takes notice and gets him some help .
alot of people in general have mental issues and those people dont seem to recognize their fellow people with similar issues so they **** on them like idiots .
Thats why i dont really badmouth people like Julio cesar chavez jr , ryan garcia , adrien broner deontay wilder etc... im sure taking punches for a living doesnt help matters for peeps who already deal with issues . we Have lost some legends aswell who couldnt cope with their issues and met tragic ends .
its a sad sport at times and the keyboard warriors just pour fire on the flames because thats what *****es do
You cant be "sane" in sports like MMA/boxing. Its essentially unarmed death matches with a few rules in place to stop people from dying.

This is dumb. Boxing upsets dont happen because the best often avoid fighting the best and decent fights can take years to take place. An inevitability when you have different promoters, managers and networks and then sanctioning bodies. The UFC acts as a unified body and, despite being competitive because of such, also seems to orchestrate itself in a way that no single fighter can supercede the value of the promotion. Dana/Zuffa don't want there to be too many McGregors who can move between sports and command high paydays, if that was the happen he would lose his stranglehold.

You don’t get what i’m saying, so of course it’s dumb. You don’t even understand. In MMA, fights like Crawford vs Brook have a high chance of ending in an “upset”. Opponents who have no business, on paper, beating a “top” MMA fighter, has a good chance of winning. Obvious lower level opponents can beat those fighters regarded as top guys.
Tyson Fury, an amazing boxer for his size, losing to Otto Wallin or Tom Schwarz level opponents, would be something we witness in MMA.
Upsets in MMA have nothing to do with “the best fighting the best”. Frequent upsets happen because of the nature of the sport. MMA can’t have a definitive best like in boxing. Boxing is punching and moving. In MMA, if you’re a good grappler and your opponent is a good striker, and both of you suck at eachother’s respective style, one of you will have to give in if you can’t get your opponent to engage you in your style. This leads to more upsets.
In boxing you have three jobs, that is to learn how to punch, avoid getting punched and defend against punching (if you fail to avoid it). Just get good at punching. The best boxers are those who learn how to punch the best and defend the best. You have to beat your opponent by punching them. This narrows down the skills needed to win. You need to really specialize in a certain style (striking with fists only).
In MMA, there are more options to win.
If you’re a great striker, and i’m a good grappler, and I have a 10-5 record and you have a 10-0 record. But you suck at grappling and face me. You’re the favorite. You’re predicted blast me with your strikes. I get you in an armbar and make you tap out. Now i’m 11-6, but continue my mediocre record, 20-15. Does that mean that the great striker really fought the “best” by fighting me? Despite me being a generally mediocre fighter?
