  • Comments Thread For: McGregor: Pacquiao Talks Intensifying For Fight This Year, I'll Win Boxing Title Before Retiring

Conor McGregor will be returning to the UFC to fight Dustin Poirier in a rematch on Jan. 23, but he's already looking past his opponent and eyeing a different foe in another sport. The 32-year-old McGregor (22-4 MMA; 20 stoppages; 0-1 boxing) maintains that he will fight Manny Pacquiao in 2021 after announcing the fight last September.

Winning a title???? He must be talking about winning the USBA or the Irish belt or something bc he definitely ain't winning a world title. Dude can't even box.

        Pacquiao annihilates Mcgregor after 5.

I would love to see it though. But Pacquiao is busy taking out the new generation.

I go back and forth on whether Pac would carry him...and I am leaning towards the side that he will. They both have the same manager and Pac knows McGrgegor is nowhere near his level (or any decent boxer's level for that matter) in boxing and Pac is so nice. I don't see him going after him to knock him out anbd embarrass him. I think it will be a paddy cake contest and hugs at end. Hard to get excited about it, but I am sure I'll watch for the spectacle.

At what weight ? 154lb???? Pac-Man holds a title at 147lb no way Connor is cutting down to that.

I’m not so sure, PAC has that mean streak!

Doesn’t want to tarnish his legacy over money the same way Floyd might have been

I truly hate these cross over fights but for each one to maximize their money before retirement, it's hard to pick another opponent at this point. Let's just not count it as a true bout though for either guys record because let's be real, when a guy is coming into a sport that utilizes 1 discipline to the highest level, he's not going to beat one of the best at it.

I would say the same for Pac going into MMA. He would get taken to the ground and that'd be all she wrote. It's a farce and creates the ******, well, bring that guy over to their sport and fight again to see what happens scenarios. Of course more than likely that guy isn't going to jump over to the sport he's not comfortable with...

“The way that this kid (McGregor) is right now — mentally, physically, emotionally — I mean this kid is on and ready to fight. I would love to see him focus on what he can do here at the UFC,” White told ESPN. So match McGregor with Georges St-Pierre, Dana. Not that McGregor would accept St-Pierre as an opponent.

Then why the **** is he negotiating with Conor McGregor? You saying this **** like Pac hasn't spent the last decade fighting Floyd's leftovers.
