Last time Bob spoke he said Aus was a great place to have it because there is basically no pandemic there like other countries, now he has flipped the script.

        Kamboses would fight Teo anywhere.

Australia is like the fake Dubai offers that Arum talks about from time to time. Never believed a word of that. Lopez will be running back to Arum for a fight soon and be told what he's exactly worth. What's his guarantee? 750K?

I live in Canada and the 'mandatory quarantine' you talk about is not the same mandatory quarantine that Australia or New Zealand has.

People are required to quarantine in Canada and can be fined if they don't and are found out. That is a chasmic difference from being stuck in a room at a hotel for 14 days under close supervision.

Plus, provinces with high case loads dragged their feet over having mask mandates in the early part of the pandemic which made a big difference.

Yup. Tam and the Gov went for far too long saying masks were more harmful due to racism or some ****. The moment they decided hurt feelings were more harmful than Covid is when they lost me.

Thailand and Vietnam enacted strict lockdowns early on and enforced them, not his pitchy patch stuff the west is doing.

We could've had this thing beat in six weeks but nobody wants to make sacrifices for the greater good. You got people against lockdowns but also against taking mitigating actions to stop the spread such as wearing a mask and social distancing. You can't have it both ways.
                  • A six week lockdown.
                  • Mass vaccination distribution
                  • International visitors agree to vaccination if they haven't been vaccinated in there country, tested and quarantined for 14 days
                  • Intra-state/province travel restricted and anyone who has to visit another state/province has to be tested and quarantined for 14 days

These are tough measures that require sacrifice. But we can't keep going at the rate we're going now. People who worry about the economy don't realize opening up to early, not enforcing lockdown, and not taking mitigating actions to stop the spread has hurt the economy more than what my plan has.
Thank you for your posts on this and you are spot on! Here in Australia we are horrified at what we are seeing in the rest of the Western World (apart from NZ).

Initially here you could quarantine yourself at home, however too many people were caught breaking the rules and now everyone gets a 14 day mandatory stay in hotel quarantine. There are occasional outbreaks here where the virus escapes quarantine, however with contract tracing and fast lock downs they are eliminated (except once in my state where a bungle led to 800 deaths, mostly in aged care and an extended lockdown that lasted months). Almost all cases of Covid-19 reported in Australia are from hotel quarantine.
