Being on an island surely helps. What also helps is the mandatory quarantine for visitors entering the country and immediate lockdowns of areas with flare ups.

You can also look at places like Thailand/Vietnam which aren't island and are close to China.

• Contact tracing
• 14 day lockdown of hotspots
• Quarantine for incoming visitors.
• Punishment for those who break quarantine rules

It's a negotiating tactic but not sure Arum will fold. After all, Lopez and Kambosos isn't exactly a huge moneymaking fight. In fact, I'm willing to bet the fight will flop in ratings even if it gets held in Australia. The better fight to make is Lopez and Haney

But does it really have to take place in Australia? I get what they were trying to do there but if not, why not put it stateside if Australia does not work? If you want fans, Texas is holding boxing events with fans and you can get some sort of gate there.

They might have to make the fight in the US. The IBF doesn't care if the money is in an Australian stadium fight, they enforce mandatory challengers. I would think anyway.

Sure, they were talking Australia, but they were thinking not. A crowd of Austrailans is probably worse than a studio to a visitor. A stadium full is not tempting to anybody.

Your problem, like America's, is you aren't strictly enforcing the rules and provinces are doing their own thing. Ontario's lockdown measures aren't the same as Quebec's. You can drive from one province to another and you aren't quarantined.

Thailand and Vietnam enacted strict lockdowns early on and enforced them, not his pitchy patch stuff the west is doing.

We could've had this thing beat in six weeks but nobody wants to make sacrifices for the greater good. You got people against lockdowns but also against taking mitigating actions to stop the spread such as wearing a mask and social distancing. You can't have it both ways.

• International visitors agree to vaccination if they haven't been vaccinated in there country, tested and quarantined for 14 days
  
• Intra-state/province travel restricted and anyone who has to visit another state/province has to be tested and quarantined for 14 days

These are tough measures that require sacrifice. But we can't keep going at the rate we're going now. People who worry about the economy don't realize opening up to early, not enforcing lockdown, and not taking mitigating actions to stop the spread has hurt the economy more than what my plan has.
