Notnsure if he went behind their backs, but they did stage the fight. That means 1 of 2 thing: 1- they didn't think/take his mando position into consideration or 2- they did ponder what the fallout would be staging the fight outside of the agreed step aside agreement, but just didn't care. Either way, its a bad look.
