You never know, he could stick around and take on the challenge that Stevenson poses. I think the boxing writers and fans would respect the hell out of him for fighting a young gun like Stevenson. There's always a few who would see it as a duck if he retired. I don't think him barely winning a round against Shakur hurts his legacy much considering Carl's age, size and that he won his first title at 122.
MTK are linked with Jojo Diaz now and part of me feels like there's a Frampton fight being lined up for Diaz later this year if Carl fights on, or maybe even as a unification if for some reason Stevenson fight doesn't happen e.g. he fights Berchelt for WBC title.Comment

I think Berchelt murders him tbh. He’s a pretty big guy for 130 and can really punch.Comment

Frampton is already an Irish great tbh, if he gets titles in three weight classes then he has to be considered one of our best ever and a likely HOF candidate.I have Frampton on points in this one. Also Carl, I love you bro, but beating Herring isn't gonna get that HOF place. Maybe holding titles in 3 divisions may get him on the ballot but not in.
I have Frampton losing to Stevenson in his first defense. Stylistically and size-wise it's a bad match-up for Frampton. Herring isn't as refined as Stevenson, plus he's lost a couple to lesser foes, so I have no problem picking Frampton to beat him. Stevenson is a step too far I feel. I think Carl should then challenge Jojo Diaz or Guttierez as I see those as winnable fights for him with the right gameplan. Then I'd like to see the trilogy with Leo Santa Cruz happen. A trilogy, regardless of who wins, helps both of their legacies massively and could rubber stamp their legacies, particularly if it's a close FOTY level fight. Then we can start talking about HOF because even past his prime he'd have won two titles at 130, fought credible opponents and would leave the sport with the respect of fans all around.Comment

He'll probably be waiting a good while. Fighters like Eubank & Benn have been waiting years. Still would like to see Leo III to rubber stamp it as both fighters 'win' if there's a trilogyComment
