I love the Pac-Man for everything his given to this sport and to beat a guy like Thurman in the fashion that he did at 41 was truly another remarkable thing to see in his remarkable career.

That being said, it’s truly sad people want a part time, 42 year old ATG once again go out there & try to needlessly prove himself against a much younger, stronger, fresher guy in his prime.

I get it, he holds the WBA. So what. It’s not like he’s holding up the division he just won the real version of it in 2019 & we all know what happened in 2020. Spence clearly isn’t in a rush to be undisputed so spare me that.

IMO Pac should have retired years ago. Just because you can still do something doesn’t mean you should.

Let me be clear, I’m not against this fight but I’m also not for it. If it happens, it happens. I just hate the way this new era of boxers are compared to Pacs era. Look at what Pac accomplished by 30 and then look at Spence, Bud, Danny, Porter, Thurman etc. not even close. Yet these guys will probably all end up in the hall of fame. The big difference here is that the new breed, spence, Porter, Crawford etc skipped both mayweather and pacquiao yet still claim to be the best in the division. In my mind none of them are until they beat pacquiao. At what point did he relinquish welterweight dominance? Certainly wasn’t in the Horn robbery or any fight since. Who’s beaten him out of the top welterweights?? Only Thurman had the balls to try and he got beat. Even beyond 40 I’d put money on PAC to beat everyone bar Crawford. He’s the only one with the skills. Never been impressed with Spence. Rugged and relentless but nothing special skill wise.
