My statement was not entirely serious, however, the logic sort of holds.

Let's begin with your opening sentence. "So because he lasted 10 rounds with Floyd, that makes him a credible opponent for Floyd?"

No. Quite the opposite. He was never a credible opponent for Floyd. As we all know, Macgregor hadn't fought a boxing match in his life. This is the very definition of an opponent with zero credibility up to that point.

However, credibility can be earned. It is not an unchanging thing.

If a boxer has never had a boxing match in his life, I think we can agree that it is a farce to suggest he steps in the ring against one of the greatest boxers of all time.

But that is what happened with Floyd lining up a match with Macgregor.

Now, for whatever reason, Floyd took 10 rounds to get him out of there.

After those 10 rounds we have to give Macgregor a little more cred than we did before. He just lasted 10 rounds with Floyd. Either Floyd is not as great as we thought or Macgregor deserves some credit for lasting those 10 rounds.

So -- completely logically -- Manny is lining up a fight with a fighter that has more cred than the one Mayweather agreed to fight.

Still a farce. Just less of one than when Floyd did it.
How can it be less of a farce, Manny is current world champion calling out the top guys and wanting McTap who has already lost, before he lost people were giving him a chance with the retired Floyd as the badest man on the planet,, they give him no chance with Manny because everybody saw a 25lb lighter frail hands Floyd walk him down and stop him.

And then you have what Manny said about Floyd disrespecting boxing when he was retired look at Manny now a double talking car salesmen, oh I can beat Spence but I dont want to fight him I want a MMA guy, throw the title in the bin and retire or this is disrespecting boxing and the WT strap he has.

I don’t even know what to say. Connor got beat three years ago by Floyd. He then got beat by Khabib.

And now he is a legit opponent for Manny. The same guy that said Floyd vs Connor was a disgrace to boxing.

We have historical facts to dissect Manny’s career. If we didn’t have that, maybe I’d be inclined to agree. But Manny is known for fighting Floyd’s leftovers plus numerous bums over the course of his career.

Humor me, if Floyd had fought Broner or Mathysse or Vargas or Algieri, would you say those were credible opponents?

I would not be surprised if McGregor pulled out a Horn like fight with dirty tricks and gave Pac troubles.

Not only does Mcgregor have more experience. Pacquiao is 42. Mayweather was 40. Mcbum is a good tune-up if Pacquiao takes him seriously. But I heard exhibition, not an official fight.

He isn't a legitimate opponent. You must have missed the part where I said it was still a farce.

Don't know what the relevance of losing to Khabib is to Macgregor's credibility in the boxing ring.

It's all very simple: Macgregor was a ridiculous opponent for Mayweather because of his zero boxing experience.

Macgregor is still a ridiculous opponent for Manny because of his extreme lack of boxing experience. But it is inarguable that Macgregor now has more boxing experience than he did before. This point is fact.

40 year old Floyd fights Macgregor with zero experience. Farce.

42 year old Manny talks possibly about fighting Macgregor who now has the experience of 10 rounds against a hall of famer. Four separate things that make it less of a farce. Let's count them.

              1. Pacquaio is older than Mayweather was.
              2. Pacquaio is only talking about it. Mayweather did it.
              3. Macregor has the aformentioned greater experience now.
              4. Mayweather vs Macgregor was billed as an actual competitive fight; Pacquaio is talking about his fight being an exhibition

So, the mathematics is simple. Less of a farce.

Lol these fights are straight boxing rules with zero compromise. Its not much of a win when you have to ban 75% of the other guys skillset first.

No one is saying that. But it is inarguable that some is more than nothing.

UFC fighters would do far better in a boxing ring than boxers would do in the octagon.
