  • Comments Thread For: Usyk Not Backing Away From WBO Shot, Has Not Given Consent For Fury-Joshua

Oleksandr Usyk, the mandatory challenger for the WBO championship, is not backing away one inch from his ordered title shot. The current champion, Anthony Joshua, who also holds the WBA, IBO, IBF titles, is more interested in a full division unification with WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Hearn and Joshua should have taken care of this mandatory. I don't get the rush to lose to Fury, not that that is entirely a forgone conclusion but Joshua-Usyk is a decent fight.

Usyk is not playing games! If this wasn't going to be 2 fights, I think he would think differently, but he knows he won't see the winner until 2022! Usyk wants 7 figures, and you know what...PAY THE MAN! Fury vs. Joshua for the "undisputed," is worth a lot more! If you don't want to pay, drop the WBO, and keep it moving! However, what about Wilder? Is Fury free and clear yet? NO! Taking a long time for something that was supposedly in the contract! Didn't we see "fake contracts" before? Hmmm Hearn said AJ might drop all the belts? Not a bad idea! Just makes the bag bigger! Everyone knows who the champ is with or without belts! And they'll pay BIG to see it too!

Joshua is gonna drop the WBO only to give a voluntary defense to Zhilei Zhang

This is Usyks manager talking ,Usyk has stated he wants to see Fury vs AJ . I would wait until Usyk puts out what is actually happening . Hearn doesn’t need Usyks consent the fight won’t pass over the Fury one either way .

Just take the Usyk fight already or pay him a step aside he can’t refuse. It’s really that simple. Joshua Fury makes so much money they can afford to overpay Usyk just to get this done.

The only issue I can see is the risk of Joshua losing to Usyk and the steam it would take off of Fury fight which honestly I could see happening. Usyk didn’t look like undisputed Usyk in his last fight. But Joshua post Ruiz 1 doesn’t look the same either. I have the fight 55/45 in Joshuas favor only due to the size and power difference. AJ is chinny and his gas tank is suspect. I think Usyk hits hard enough, moves enough and throws enough to pull off the upset.

Hopefully everyone stops d:cking around and get this show on the road

Remember what everyone said Andy Ruiz Jr's problem was after he lost to Parker?

Doesn't hit hard enough to be Heavyweight Champion Only had a 52% KO% going into the Joshua fight.

Credit to AJ for wanting Fury over the easier mando who is smaller and came from CW. Shame on WBO for this ****** rule that a WBO champ from below can come up and get a title shot just for being champion in a lower weight class. None of this is Usyk’s fault though.
