Comments Thread For: Reynoso: Multi-weight Titles Ensure Canelo Will Go Down As Greatest Mexican Fighter

With so many storied champions in Mexican boxing history, trainer Eddy Reynoso understands why some people struggle to reach consensus on who the best really is. After all, how does one choose between the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Salvador Sanchez, Ruben Olivares, Erik Morales, Ricardo Lopez, Vicente Saldivar, Raton Macias, Efren Torres, Jose Napoles, Marcos Antonio Barrera, Humberto Gonzalez, and Juan Manuel Marquez?

Jose Nàpoles was actually born in Cuba where he fought his first 21 fights. After he fled the Castro regime he went to Mexico where he became a naturalized citizen. Not sure that qualifies him as a Mexican fighter

          Canelo

Just because you move up and down in weight doesn't make you great. Who you fight at those weights is what matters. Canelo is hasn't fought anyone great. He cherry picks. No way in hell he goes down a the greatest mexican fighter ever. GTFOH.

Because you are larger doesn’t make you better. I’m not saying Canelo will or won’t be the best, but a 175 lb title is no more important than a 135 lb one. He’s the largest great. Not necessarily the best.

Beating up useless domestic UK paper champions like Smith Brothers don't mean jack ****.
You got into 175, had your way with "on the way out" Kovalev and did not stick around for Beterbiev lol what gives?!

And i am not even mentioning the illigall substance

So much this. He needs a Frazier to his Ali. A Duran to his Sugar Ray. He really hasn't done much. Just looked good doing it.

Canelo should try and become undisputed champion at a particular weight division instead of the flip flop weight changing.
