Just rewatched Ike Quartey vs. Oba Carr...

And man Bazooka was the truth. I love to go back and revisit his catalog periodically. I would love to see how he would fare against today's lineup at 147-154. I think part of the reason he's underrated is because of his era, just got overshadowed by De La Hoya, Trinidad etc.
But when I see guys like Tony Harrison nowadays, I see a budget version of Quartey, without the durability obviously. But man, either I'm hating or I think he marches through Jermell and the rest of 154.

Quartey had a FANTASTIC jab! I remember he pronounced De La Hoya's first name "oooosker".

He was an awesome fighter when he was active. Inactivity basically killed his career.

Watch the Oscar fight its a beauty, Ike was a beast.

Another great fight is Oscar vs Fernando Vargas.

He was a damn good fighter. Part of the reason his left jab was so good was he was a converted southpaw as was De La Hoya and Trinidad.
