Having mandatories fight each other for a shot at unified champ is a great idea, hopefully they implement something like that.

So if someone was working their way up the IBF rankings they could fight an eliminator, a final eliminator and then fight the WBC mandatory?

The final eliminator would be the WBC mandatory or vice versa

Even better if there’s no mandatory, merge the eliminators between bodies to have a unified mandatory

I can't believe they haven't found the simplest solution of all. Fight more than once a year. If you believe mandatories are easy pickings then you should be able to fight at least 3 times a year. You can knock each mandatory over in about 3 to 4 rounds without breaking a sweat then have a title unification just before going on Christmas holidays. At the end of the day the belts no longer hold glory. It's only now that the belts have a monetary value that fighters and promoters won't risk letting them go. The only fighter really that I see holding them with pride is Teo. And even then his statements the other day about having to pay the king put me off. He gets a pass because I know he's humble but it's an exact example of promoters getting in fighters ears and twisting their ideals from wanting to be the best into wanting to become the highest earner.

Let’s start with dumping all these ridiculous belts abs go back to one champ a division abs then let’s educated the Johnny come lately casual fans in the reality that champions defend their belts against contenders. Using current rankings, it would make sense for Munguia to face Williams for the WBC/WBO mandatory because they are both ranked in the top 3 of each org. Now, if Charlo/Andrade would unify, then Munguia/Williams would be entitled to a opportunity.

At 135, I'd have Loma (top 5 in every org) face Ryan Garcia (ranked high in WBC/WBO) for a shot at Lopez.

The issue is that these orgs have so many fxcking belts, which creates confusion. The web of belts needs to be untangled first.

I think I'm right in saying Povetkin was also number 1 for the WBO when AJ fought him but they declined to have him satisfy two mandatorys with one fight.

1) No more silly belts as if you are the WBC B champ you can't get a ranking in the others as you're a champion so that has to go.
2) If someone is rank 1 in more than one org count you can do multiple defences in one fight.
3) Ditch the silly rankings with promoter bias how was Dubouis #2 with the WBO. Wilders run of defences against Haymon/King fighters was ridiculous. etc etc
