        A weird lie?

For a promoter to make an excuse to suggest his client was not as good as he should have been following a loss?

        How is that weird?

I’m a little tired so maybe I didn’t comprehend the article well but I don’t recall Pulev saying this or EVER mentioning it. It is his co-promoter doing the talking so I won’t throw stones at Pulev because it is not coming from his mouth & until it does I won’t judge him for what his promoter says...

it’s not like he’s saying he had an injury, to lie and say he had a sickness that’s currently causing a global pandemic would be weird.

              Pulev interview in Bulgaria:-

The fact that you contracted the coronavirus remained hidden from the public, but your doctor later revealed details that it was not easy. How did you go through this period and how did it affect you? Was there a moment when you thought to cancel the match due to illness?

              - These were difficult moments, more like decisions and responsibilities! But I will not comment on my condition before the match. I refuse to do it because I don't want to look like a person who justifies the loss. I will only say that for reasons beyond my control, the preparation for the most important battle in my career was not up to standard. I was 50% prepared. This is the situation! But I went out and fought as hard as I could. You know my faith. I am a warrior. My spirit is unbreakable. I just couldn't refuse a world title match against Anthony Joshua for the second time. All sorts of thoughts have passed through my head then and now, but I resist. Continue. There is absolutely no problem, I am incredibly strong!

If he was positive for covid at any point in the leadup the fight would have been called off immediately. He probably wouldn't even be allowed into the country, let alone to enter the bubble and fight. Pulev's a weirdo man, talked **** for months and acted like a tool at the weighin, did nothing in the fight itself and then continued to talk **** like he'd won or something even though Joshua knocked him into the middle of next week. Now these extremely transparent bare-faced lies as an excuse.

Well if he would have left out the 50% prepared it really would have looked like he wasn’t making excuses but throwing that in there changed my opinion on that. He should have just tip toed around the question & said that the better man won.
