Why is Duran ranked higher than Leonard by most?

Both are ranked high but it seems most historians and P4P lists have Roberto Duran ranked not only higher, but significantly higher than Ray Leonard.

    Why is this?

    Won over a 100
    Became MW champ
Lots of his losses IE Paz and Camacho R.I.P should’ve been wins.

Probably because he is usually thought of as the best lightweight in history by many because of his time as lightweight champion. Leonard never had such a title reign. he beat Leonard in the first fight as the smaller man and he stayed good to a mjuch older age than Leonard.

Come on man, how can you not know?

Duran started at 118 and fought as high as light heavy weight! Ray fought mostly at 40 and 47. Dabbled in other weights after beating Hagler, but never did anything big. Lost mostly and yes I count the third Hearns fight a loss, Ray does too.

He gave Leonard his first loss legit. Even in the no mas fight against Ray the fight was dead even practically. Rumors he had weight problems that fight and despite all of that, if he didn't quit he could have beaten Ray again which could have altered the course of Ray's history entirely.

Going into the 15th round against Hagler the fight was scored a tie for the most part.

                Five belts in four divisions.

                Fought better opposition.

Over 100 wins and not a whole hell of losses.

Mostly because he was a lot smaller than the other four kings.

I’d probably rank Leonard higher myself though to be honest.

Because of his domination as a lightweight and because he beat Ray when it mattered the most
