Upset of the year prediction: "I predict Crawford to lose if he finally steps up vs either Porter,Ortiz & of course Spence. For that matter I don't think he even beats Garcia let alone the elites at 140."
I see Crawford as the latest hypejob whos good but has not demonstrated hes an ATG,he is like Ggg & Loma being overhyped way too much for beating overmatched opponents ages ago, this is why p4p is often a joke, these 3 fighters have been ranked #1 p4p when they started koing a string of B-,C & D class fighters.(of course Loma was the one who actually tried fighting the best available in many of his fights, Crawford & Ggg cherrypick fighters that are huge underdogs like 10/1 usually & paper champs.)
Look at what a joke it is for there now suddenly to become a debate about whether the fighter who was the actual FOTD 2010s,(Canelos)is the #1 p4p(of course he is & has been for years when these hypejobs were overhyped not just because they are skillful champs, but because there IS anti Canelo haters in msm whom HATE Canelo(like Paulie whom admited it) the truth is despite Canelo having cherrypicked a few opponents like anyone,he has earned his status as cashcow by beating the best available his entire career.
The rest cannot say the same thing except Loma whom lost to Salido but was still called p4p #1 since he had like 6 total fights & was going on 30. And what a surprise he got sc****d by Teo. Yet espn whom say "the ginger isnt p4p Because, too many close fights he won against the best, not enough bums kod like Crawford"(yet The guy they rank #1,Bud/Loma/ had several close fights against overmatched opponents,& Loma has a Loss in just a few fights,Bud went 12 with a 1 legged driveby victim" yet now after a decade of Canelo fighting everyone, hes suddenly being discussed as being p4p#1 despite ggg being for the longest time p4p despite not winning a single belt in the ring vs a full champ.
What constitutes a hypejob? For millennia that question has been asked but it's only after they are exposed that a hypejob truly gets credited as being a hypejob.
Hypejob definition: a "hype job" is simply a production, promotion, or other undertaking where something is hyped up far above the actuality or facts demonstrate.
Lets look back at fighters who were upset & humbled despite being billed as being p4p#1 & or unbeatable knockout artists whom nobody can last 12 let alone beat.
Lomachenko-
was hailed as an ATG &p4p#1 by espn & many others since early on in his career that started very late at age 26. He is & always was a solid elite fighter who benefitted from good matchmaking but hadn't beaten an opponent who was truly his equal on paper going in to the fight.(He had solid wins against Linares,Pedraza,GRJ,& Walters, but he also had a loss vs a journeyman C level.)
He started believing his hype so much that he ended up coining his own nickname "Nomaschenko" Because as he would tell it,nobody could last without quitting,he even said Teo & others were unworthy because they would quit.
Wilder- was donning executioner masks & outfits & coined the term "the bronze bomber" Because he believed his own hype & thought he would ko every opponent with ease & that nobody can hurt him. He started having ringwalks with *** corny rappers & tried turning boxing into a race war by what he & his paid rappers said regularly. He would laugh that another fighter said hed ko him, Because he genuinely believed in his made up persona that he would slaughter everyone in his path & their only shot was on pts.
Ggg-
Despite having only gifted vacant belts after a decade as a pro,was ranked p4p#1 by every outlet & rating org for a very long time. He started believing he was a unbeatable"mexican style warrior" who nobody would last 7 rds against (he knew this because Abel told him so) just as he "knew" "anyone between 154-168".
Well ggg was BEATEN by Canelo who til then was a still learning jmw with shorter reach & height(which is why GGG wanted him to be his career defining fight) because as I've always said,he picks on smaller guys whenever possible & avoids taller, naturally bigger punchers with good defense whenever possible. (&This formula remains his bread & butter today)
Ggg to this day remains overhyped & p4p for no reason.
That says it all. SInce Canelo beat Ggg he has changed his name, changed his style,& changed his trainer, persona & handlers,& went from claiming only mexican style is real boxing,to now refusing to mention the word Mexican.
(Does that sound like a guy who thinks he won?) He went from Mr Ko to Mr ran outta ring crying
And don't give me that bs about"Clenelo",while bigging up mr lifelong 2 weeks/short notice testing ggg that goes on sabbaticals.
