Of the wins you mentioned, most of those Occurred at Lightweight were I agree Money was amazing, Not 147.

Above 135 Mayweather was an excellent match maker but it’s all down hill in terms of legit threats. Leonard fought and beat the best in 15 rd wars.

Those 15 rd wars displayed levels of skill not seen to this day. Those fighters would absolutely destroy today’s very good welterweight division.

    Tommy Hearns at 147 would
Wipe the floor with everybody today Floyd included at 147.

Wilfred Benitez was a defensive mastermind and He’d wreck Spence and Crawford.

Also downplaying Leonard outside of the fab 4 is wrong as well especially since you included Maidana, Hatton etc.

Dave Green, Bruce Finich, Ayub Kalule were all very good fighters.

At 147 Mayweather never stopped anybody of note and remember he broke his hands first against Carlos Hernandez at Lightweight. Those brittle hands in the 80’s would have been disastrous for Mayweather.

I disagree brother but still respect the reply!
Good note on the 15 rounds. Those last 3 rounds showed what a fighter was really made of and we just don't know how Floyd would have done in those rounds. I think Floyd would have been ok because of his style. Never seen him dead gassed at the end of fights and he's a gym rat so in my opinion, I think he could have done well with 15 rounds. Impossible to know though!

In my brain, Hearns vs Floyd I think is the most dangerous fight for Floyd. If you could get out of those first few rounds though, Hearns could get outplayed.

To be honest, I don't subscribe to the Floyd matchmaking thing man. Mayweather wasn't in control of his career until after Judah when he left Top Rank and thats when the best fights were made. Arum is on record saying he wouldn't make the Oscar fight because it "wouldn't make money."

Floyd was calling Mosley out directly after beeating Brussels in 2005 which was right after Shane came back to 47' after losing to Winky. Can't blame Floyd for when he got Mosley. Remember Mosley's tooth excuse on top of it (Mayorga?)?

And the Pacquiao thing, Top Rank delayed that fight because Bruce Trampler and Bob knew Manny could never beat him.

All the proof you need is here, all itemized by dates.

Over the past two years, there's been a lot of uncertainty amongst fans and media alike regarding the events surrounding the negotiations for the mega-fight between pound-for-pound champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. In an effort to clear up the confusion, FightHype.com has put together an in-depth timeline detailing every major milestone that took place. From the moment that Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement to the minute that Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum declared the fight to be off, all of the major events that dominated the headlines are included. Only the facts are included in this definitive timeline. Links to mulitple outside references have been included for each date, so fans can draw their own conclusions as to what went wrong at each step of the way.

Those are the 3 guys people say Floyd waited until they got old and factually, it's not true.

I agree with you on Benetiz. I'm not a fan of Spence or Crawford to be honest.

Like I said to the other guy, Green and Kalule never fought anybody real. Those guys never really got on the air either back then. When Kalule fought outside of Denmark, he lost.

Like, how do people even know these guys unless you lived in the UK or Denmark?

Green? Never fought anybody and all of his fights were in the UK. Never heard of him until now and you haven't either until you looked on Rays record on Boxrec. You need to chill lol.
Ayub Kalulu who was a world champion at 154lbs when Leonard beat him isn't a significant win but Augustus a journeyman with nearly a 50-50 record is? Kalulu who won his world title in Japan against the Japanese champion only fought in Denmark?

And he only beat Sugar Ray Seales? I guess we're going to ignore Sumbu Kalambay who went on to be world champion at Middleweight.

You don't know much about Leonard's career so I would see why you wouldn't know who Dave Green is. Not saying he was the greatest but he was clearly on par with at least half the fights you named for Mayweather.

My fault for mentioning Augustus tbh, I forgot how many losses he had. Either way, you pick the worst of the bunch to make that point guy? What about Maidana, Corrales, Hernandez, Judah, and Gatti? You call Floyd a cherrypicker (matchmaking reference), yet here you are cherry picking stats!

A Japanese champion (wtf), are you ok man? Out of 50 fights, 44 were in Denmark. That's like 90% so yea man, the guy fought in Denmark the VAST majority of his career and when he left he lost beside beating a Japanese guy in Japan (lol). Don't sit here acting like you knew who he was until you looked at Ray's Boxrec.

Out of those 6 fights abroad he got stopped 4 times. You're really going to compare Kalule to Maidana, Corrales, Hernandez, Judah, and Gatti who were real champions that fought on the world stage?

I just watched some of Kalule against Ray (and a snip against Kalambay) and he's pretty bad. Tbh, August is better than Kalule. Go watch 1 minute of that fight, he's terrible.

I remember Kalambay, he was pretty good and apparently lost a razor close decision to Kalule despite knocking him down twice. Whatever, every dog has his day, look at Leon Spinks. Point is, Kalule is terrible and you did't even know who he was until you looked at Ray's boxrec.
