I got no problem with Charlo moving up... but in that situation, there are better/tougher options for Canelo at 168 until Charlo settles in to the division

Jermall is an excellent opponent for Canelo and he said he would move up to 168 to fight Canelo. Canelo's next fight is with the guy from Turkey and that is already set to go in February. After Canelo almost certainly wins that fight his next fight will likely be with one of the other 168 pound champions Plant or Saunders.

Why can't Charlo fight Plant in May? Then target Canelo in September. If he has a 168 title belt by the end of May, then there's no excuse for Canelo not to fight him.

I would agree if Canelo would still be fighting at 160. Charlo probably needs to make a statement at 168 before people demand Canelo fights him asap. It's not like Charlo is the cash cow here.
