As far as teo, i have no problem with him taking a soft touch to defend his title. Add in the fact that it is probably the only reasonable option to fight over the next few months with a decent number of fans and it is a no brainer. If his fight after that isn't against one of loma, garcia, haney or davis then i would have a problem. The other exception would be the josh taylor/ramirez winner.

Honestly im surprised teo isn't pushing for garcia and vice versa. Arum and oskar can work together easily then either can with haymon.

Lopez has to be onsidred number 1 at 135, but he's also talking crap.

"If y'all believe y'all the best and y'all think that y'all can take this, then let's make the fight happen!" cuts both ways.

Haney sounds like he wants to fight Lopez. I think he'd take the fight if offered it. But Lopez says he needs to work on his resume.

Lomachenko would take a rematch. Lopez says there'll be no rematch.

The other big fights to make are Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Lopez's dad says there are two more fights for Teofimo at 135.

So who is next? They are talking about fighting Kambosos Jr.

So I would throw his own words back at him. If he believes he is the best, then make the fights happen. Don't waste time with Kambosos. Fight one of the top 5 if you are the top dog.

          "Don't overprice yourselves" -Lopez

The same Lopez that would not budge on the Loma fight so Loma took a pay cut to make the fight happen. The same Lopez that is asking for 10 million minimum per fight now and saying he is the A++ side. Whatever that means. As much of a Diva Floyd could be at times even he never said that.

I figured Lopez would move up to 140 after the Loma fight but I also figured that once they realize that the guys at 140 are taller and longer Sr. did not like those prospects.

Lopez vs Davis would be a mismatch due to size alone. Davis is the much smaller guy naturally and Lopez is the much larger guy naturally. Haney v Lopez would be the best fight of the division and most even. If anything have Loma fight Davis and Haney fight Lopez and those two winners fight each other. Garcia can get the left overs.

Lopez won't even be offered 5 mil. Maybe 3 mil max, twice what he made last time.

Teofimo Lopez Sr Says Fight With Tank And Haney Don’t Make Sense
                Boxing News 24/7
                December 22, 2020 l 73 Comments l by Will Arons

Teofimo Sr Says Tank Fight Not Happening

“There’s no fight with Gervonta Davis,” said Teofmo Sr to Fighthype about Vasily Lomachenko. “You already heard Floyd Mayweather say, ‘Gervonta Davis needs another tune-up fight before he fights my son.

My son isn’t going to stay in the 135-pound weight division. Maybe one, maybe two, we don’t know,” said Teofimo Sr when asked how many fights does Lopez have left at lightweight. ”

“It depends. If the money is right, we’ll stay, but I’m not going to damage my son’s career by leaving him in a weight division that he can’t make anymore.

“My son is not performing at 100% at 135 because he has to lose all that weight. So, he’s really fighting weak in that fight.

“I think he’ll be more powerful at 140, and that’s what we’re trying to go to. Let’s see what happens. We got a good fight with George Kambosos Jr up in Australia. It’ll be 65,000 people. I’m all in for it.

It would be interesting to see what Mayweather has to say about his fighter Tank Davis preferring to take a tune-up rather than face Teofimo.

What’s weird is the different excuses Teofimo Sr makes for why his son can’t fight Tank.

He says that Tank needs a tune-up fight as the reason why Teofimo can’t fight him. But then Teofimo Sr says Tank needs to build-up before he’ll let his son fight him.

Haney And Tank Need To Build Their Resumes

“A fight with Devin Haney, a fight with Gervonta Davis, or any of those guys don’t make no sense right now,” said Teofimo Sr. “These guys need to make up their resumes, they need to start fighting bigger guys.

“Leo Santa Cruz isn’t a top dude. My son was even telling Tank, ‘What are you fighting this dude for? It’s a disgrace.’

“We’re not going to go back down and fight a guy at 130 pounds or 126. It doesn’t make no sense. We’re not beating nobody if we’re going down.

“We’re fighting guys in our weight division, and then we’re going forward with that. We’re not going backward. We’re taking all the big fights.

Given that Teofimo Jr is supposedly fighting only one or two more times at 135 before he moves up to 140, it sounds like he’s never going to fight Haney or Tank. We already know that Teofimo Jr will never fight Lomachenko again because he already said, “what for?”

Teofimo Jr thinks he’ll beat Lomacgenko in the same way in the rematch, but unfortunately, the fans don’t agree with him.

They think Teofimo is afraid of facing Lomachenko again and that he’s cherry-picking by looking to face Kambosos Jr...

Green K for posting. As I said, Lopez is scared crapless. Kambosos is a better opponent than Davis and Haney?

He is too smart for all of them. The “He hasn’t fought anyone” excuse is old. If he was in Tank Davis position then he would have fought Lomachenko for example.

Fact is, he is the odd man out. Loma, Teo Lopez, Tank and Ryan would not be that keen to fight him. Tank would only fight Ryan out of those name for obvious reasons. Haney would welcome a fight over anyone of them.

What happened to team Lopez being too big for 135 and going to 140? Not doing that anymore?

The best fight for Lopez and for boxing is still Lomachenko II.
