Very much enjoyed this fight . the way Rosario was coming forward and putting that 1 2 left hook to the body is a favorite combo n to see him utilize it magnificently .

I didn't think Teo would win either. I figured if he did it would be by KO. I didn't envision a UD win.

Man, I was thinking JRock was the real deal at 154, but how the fuck does someone lose to a guy nicknamed 'Banana', who himself gets KO'ed into a quivering mess by Charlo? I hate it badly when a fighter scores an upset but looks like a clown in his next fight.

I distinctly remember looking at Betonline leading up to the fight and seeing 20-to-1 (and called it out in my Underdogs post). I didn't check for wider, but if Poppa says so, it's so.

I'm not buying it. Shows the Betonline history on that site (Pick any book from the drop down menu):

Odds there for PICKEM league :

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

Can't find anything higher than 15/1 when I search Rosario Williams odds. It was the same thing with Ruiz AJ 1. He was a 10/1 dog then when he won a bunch of articles come out saying 30/1 to exaggerate it.

The flaw in your logic is that the history only shows final odds at the time the fight was over, not the odds going into the fight.

Odds shift all night long, bro.

I get that some picked Lopez to win or had money on it but the media made their mind up as soon as the fight was signed, it was a forgone conclusion that Loma would win long before the first bell.

'We still don't know how good Lopez is, he's too green, too inexperienced, he'll learn from this etc etc..' was the narrative before the fight. At the same time, 'Loma's P4P #1, he might be unbeatable, perhaps the greatest talent in the history of the sport blah blah blah...'

They can't now downplay it as if it's no big deal.

Loma achieved a lot in a short time as a pro, he was definitely up there in the P4P discussion but the media (and parts of his fanbase) overhyped him to ridiculously unrealistic levels and when someone beats him, they act like it's no big deal.

It doesn't bother me if you think another fight was a bigger upset, I'm just disappointed that a lot of the same boxing media that overhyped Loma and didn't give Lopez a shot are hardly mentioning this fight in their end of year wrap up articles and when they do, they downplay it as if it was a minor footnote of 2020.
Teo was the bigger, stronger, more athletic guy and much younger in his weight class

How is that a bigger upset than a 30-1 upset?

J-Rock's a good fighter, he just isn't durable. He's like Jorge Linares in that sense.

Banana was weight drained, that's why you saw what you saw in that Charlo fight.

Probably because nobody even knew who the **** Banana was going into the fight. A lot of people considered it an easy at home defense for Jrock
