Why doesn’t Russell beat Diaz again and put himself in line for a big fight?

We know Russell isn’t getting Santa Cruz next and all he has to do is move up four pounds to rematch Diaz.

Diaz will take the fight because he’ll want to avenge his only loss.

It’s also the only title fight at 130 that Russell has any leverage in.

If he wins (which he probably would), he can finally make some real money against some of these name guys at 130.

It’s the most obvious step ever, I’m shocked it hasn’t been announced yet.

I think Russel is all bark. He didn't want the smoke with Devin Haney, which I think he gives Haney a very tough and close fight but whatever. He says Leo has been "dodging" him but I think leo beats him down into a UD. He said he wants Davis, but we all know Davis puts him into a coffin. He doesn't want the smoke with Shakur, who I believe UDs him in a one sided f_uck fest. His only chance is to fight Miguel Berchelt or Oscar Valdez, but it looks like Top Rank is giving Shakur their belt soooo. He's a duck.....To answer your question, he won't fight Diaz because Diaz at this stage in his career, probably beats Russel down. Diaz has grown into his man strength, and will capitalize on his mistakes he made in their first fight.

Because everybody is ducking Russell including Crawford. Russell gets no blame for the way he & his father have handled his career. It's everybody ducking him

I doubt he wants rematch with JoJo Diaz since Diaz started tagging up and hurting GRJ late when Diaz started letting his hands go.

Cause Russell is all talk and no action. Just like Andrade, Saunders, Haney and all the other belt holders who always want the big fights yet never fight anyone unless it’s mandated.

I get the impression if Russell were offered the fight he'd say something along the lines of " for what ? I already beat him ".

IMO it would be the smart router for him to take.
Chances of it actually happening ... Slim to none.
